Hey, ya can't judge them. The theaters still get their money in the end so who cares what they come there for. Some women only come there to see Evans and Hemsworths giant biceps. Some only come because of RDJ.

theres really people out there that go see MCU movies only for action sequences? Really? Wow...ok.

:lmao:

People go to see movies for different reasons. Hell there are people who only go to see Thor Movies for the romantic subplots and to see Chris Hemsworth's abs.

Phase one must've been really disappointing if you went to see MCU films solely for the action.

Well, yeah. Not everyone is as heavily invested in the movies themselves as the people on the internet.

Some people just want an entertaining way to kill 2 hours.

Im betting most people go to see movies to get invested in the story and characters as well as the action. You really cant enjoy a film just on action sequences alone. Marvel makes movies with interesting characters, if it was just about the action, it would be pretty weak stuff.

Marvel movies arent wrestling events.

And the other major thing telling me this is fake is this insistence on them claiming Spider-Man is the big huge reveal and that he's the money shot of the trailer. If Marvel were gonna do that and had the capabilities, they'd have done so at the Super Bowl when half the population of Earth was watching.

Also pretty much 99.9% of reddit "leaks" are totally fake and made up by kids wanting some attention. Even I could go onto a Marvel subreddit and post about "I saw teh 2nd CW trailer and it had Steve going 'YOU'RE A DOINK!!!11!!!' to Tony and Spider-Man punched Zemo and Crossbones and shot webs in their faces!!1!!"

I really don't understand why people are getting worked up over this. Who cares?

I cannot agree with this hard enough. Places like Reddit thrive on anonymity. You can literally go there claiming to be anyone and make any outrageous claim you want, and nobody can verify it.

Some jokester went on a while back with a whole bunch of supposed plot leaks, claiming he was a Marvel intern.

Frankly, the action sequences haven't been THAT good to where I'm going strictly for them. Only CA:TWS kept my attention in that regard.

I suspect the main reason to see these films now is to watch these heroes interact in any way shape or form they can.

I can attest to that, in fact a lot of the girls I know seem to only go cos the stars are hot.

I remember discussing Civil War with a girl at work, and she was asking why Iron Man and Cap are fighting, I starting to explain and she went, 'you know what I don't care Chris Evans is hot that's the only thing I care about'

Then I said fair enough you gonna go see Batman v Superman, her response 'oh my god yes, Henry Cavill is so hot'.

Admittedly I only watched Closer to see Natalie Portman, so it goes both ways.

Well, the main motivation for me to watch Suicide Squad is Harley Quinn and Margot Robbie.

My main motivation to NOT watch SS is Will Smith. Anyway you can't expect every one to be as invested in the characters as we do. The thing is MCU movies most of the time have a bit of everything. Humor for those who want to have a good time, action for the explosion afictionados, character moments for the ones who have been following the movies and perfect speciments of both the male and female gender for those who want *insert Honest Trailer voice* "ABBBBBSSSSSSSSSSSSS"!

Well personally I wouldnt pay to see a film just to see an actor or actress or just for explosions. I need more out of a 2 hour movie than just seeing something that simple. You can sit on your computer and look at videos of people or watch porn if you need to.

And thats fine. Everyone is different everyone has different interests. Thats what makes them unique. Thats what allows debates like this. Its only normal.

Yeah...it's just a microcosm of the world today...people want to be notice or acknowledge, on a global scale, in a digital age, where as in the real world, there is probably no hope of ever being notice & acknowledge, in general, by everyday people.

On the flip side of things, people obsession to be in the know of something, fuels attention grabbers, such as this Reddit poster. So, it's a never ending cycle.

ernest: If people want to be Simple Jacks N Jills, its their right! More power to em

Didn't your friend mean "hawt?" Isn't that what the young kids like to say now? I remember commenting on an AOU Tv spot and how it was the first time I've ever heard Wanda speak. Then a young woman told me "it was hawt." Another one of her comments, she called Wanda "super hawt." and LOLed because she was a girl. I thought that was pretty funny.

People used to do this back in he 90s. That's really why the term "box office draw" exists. One of the reasons Titanic was the hit that it was because girls loved seeing Leo.

Nowadays though I would actually say people want more from their movies as having a certain star in your film doesn't guarantee success anymore.

I dont think I ever went to see a movie for judst one thing even as a kid. Like when Batman (89) came out I just wanted to see that movie it wasnt just for a specific thing in it. Its just weird to think people go see a film for only one thing and ignore all the other great stuff in em, thats all Im saying.

Girls do go for certain things, thats something I forgot about. oh well.
