Another Positive Review:

http://****************.com/movie-review/captain-america-avenger-review/

That's 26 reviews with 20 positives and only 6 negatives (77%) right now.

Damn, Rotten Tomatoes are taking their sweet time aren't they?

Does Rotten Tomatoes use everyones reviews, are they selective, or does one have to become a member for them to use it? Sorry about all the questions, but I just am not sure how it works, other then the fact that they seem way behind on what is really happening.

That reviewer and that site have never had a review posted on Rotten Tomatoes. RT isn't taking it's sweet time in this situation. The reviewers RT's uses are.

I'm convinced now that the positive reviews are coming in. This will not go way of the Green Lantern, thank goodness. The Tomatometer will definitely go well into the fresh rating soon.

I'm not going to be able to see it until Sunday and will be losing sleep over it until then!! :woot:

Same here going sunday. I have to wait for my wife.:yay:

I do think studios pay off sites and reviewers to hype or trash certain films. Honestly though I don't know why anyone is concerned. The lowest rated blockbuster this summer (aside from Green Lantern) was Transformers: Dark of the Moon and that crushed the freaking Box Office.

It happens. I seem to remember Sony Pictures getting exposed for that and even making up fake reviewers.

What I want to know is if RT usually takes their sweet time the way they are now? lol

Reviews for RT approved critics like Entertainment Weekly, UGO, Playlist, Rama's, BOM, etc. are not added on their site yet... and they all happened to be "positive"... hmmm.

While RT has all the 6 negatives so far, and published them early.

Even the 1st Cap review by Roger Moore since yesterday at 6 am, was barely published an hour ago today.

Rotten Tomatoes is sure taking their time aren't they...

Funny, if you follow RT's twitter, people are complaining for RT to quit tweeting how Captain America is "currently rotten" every hour or so :awesome:

Average is now up to 7.5/10, getting ahead of XMFC's.

Transformers operates in a different market though where quality is not as significant a determinant of box office. If you look at comic book films, not many have made big bucks without being good or following a previous film that was good.

The general public hardly differentiates the two really. Fantastic Four did well enough to get a sequel, Batman Forever had an [atrocious] follow-up. I don't want Cap to be that bad, but the notion that the RT score has to be a certain place for this to be profitable is, well, completely ridiculous and without merit. The only guys slavishly watching RT is people like us, the general public decides to see movies like this.

"Hey Joe, did you see the new Cap movie"
"Yeah"
"Any good"
"Yeah I liked it"
"Oh cool! Maybe I'll go see it".

Average is up to 7.5! WTH is going on? Ridiculously high (First Class 7.4) given the proportion of negative reviews?

It's the opposite of what happened with Thor. Give it time and it'll adjust....Chill.

I find it funny how they do updates on Cap but failed to notice how FWB just went from fresh to rotten...

"Even the film’s villain is clearly enjoying himself. Played by Hugo Weaving with a ridiculous German cadence, General Johann Schmidt, a.k.a. Red Skull, is the perfect bad guy for this kind of movie. He’s wholly bad, concerned only in world domination. Why? Because he’s a God, of course! Even the Nazis are tired of him halfway through this thing. Weaving plays this superiority to its highest pitches as though he was born to do it. And after watching this and The Matrix films, perhaps he was."

Sounds great to me! :awesome:

The hardest part about the IGN interview for me
And it's important to note that, since Cap began production, comparisons have been made between it and Spielberg's first Indiana Jones movie. (Even by Johnston himself, who worked on Raiders.) Outside of a globe-trotting adventure and a few beats that wink to the playfulness of Indy's first ride, the comparisons stop there. Because Johnston is the director you hire to make the production look good, to make sure the CG hits its mark and things move from A to B without a hitch. Spielberg is the guy you get to give all of that life; to give it a personality, a spark.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, but when you said "RT approved critics like Entertainment Weekly, UGO, Playlist, Rama's, BOM, ect..." is that the same as what they call "Top Critics", and are many of the other ones still considered normal reviews on RT or are many of them just ignored. Like the one by Comic Vine for example or the one by We Got This Covered.

Thanks again
