I think that rate´s gonna grow. Although the critics´s fresh and rotten rates are mixed (the movie has to reach above a certain rate to be considered "fresh", being "rotten" doesn´t necessarily mean the critic thinks it sucks) the movie´s average rating is 7,4, which is actually a good one.

Not a big fan but Richard Roepers review coming tomorow according to his site.

That's the same average that XM:FC currently has.

He seems like a closet fanboy, he tends to care much more about superhero movies than one would expect. But he seems to like the hip edge to characters like Iron Man and Thor, hopefully he digs the old school approach and character of Cap.

apparently half these reviews dont understand the point of captain america

On ign's review. They say the last 10 minutes in devoted to setting up the Avengers.:csad: They are doing that too much. I could care less about setting up the Avengers as opposed to having a good Captain America ending.

I like Roeper and thought he was right on the money about Thor which was great. He was right about the Green Lantern as well, but he is very generous in alot of his reviews. Deathly Hallows 2 an A+, it was ok.

The 7.4 average rating is probably lagged at the moment but that's a lot more important than the Tomatometer and at the moment it's good. (Thor got 6.7)

Yeah even though I'm not a huge fan of his I still seek out his reviews because I know deep in his heart he's a closet fanboy, lol He did like Thor a great deal.

But some of the stuff he likes and doesn't like is all over the place lol, he's one of the few reviewers who likes later shyamalans films :D

This seems like it'll play out as the reverse of how the reviews went with Thor. That stayed in the 90% for a long, long time even though it's average was just in the high 6.0/10's. Most said it's fresh % would eventually fall and it did into the high 70% range. CA:TFA's average is simply too high for it to remain where it is. I could still see it finishing in the 80% range.

No kidding...all this "dose of wit" and "not enough humor from Cap" talk is lame as hell. That's who Cap is...he's not a funny guy!

There's no way that they can put that off until the Avengers, and would you rather prefer to see Steve Rogers encased in ice as the final image in this movie?

The ending of captain america....by default is a tie-in to the Avengers even if they just found him frozen at the end of this film :whatever:

Another Positive Review:

http://****************.com/movie-review/captain-america-avenger-review/

That's 26 reviews with 20 positives and only 6 negatives (77%) right now.

Damn, Rotten Tomatoes are taking their sweet time aren't they?

Once scene maybe, I don't think you even need that. Spend 10 minutes though on building up another movie? Ridiculous.

The ending to a Captain America movie would, by default, be an Avengers set-up. Even if they weren't making an Avengers movie.

I hope just in your screening they cut Captain America into a half hour movie and just play the avengers trailer over and over for you for the rest of the time :cwink: then you would have a legitimate gripe. :whatever: 10 minutes of a 2hour movie is not that big of a deal especially when
Nick Fury only shows up at the very end.

I like how the Negatives are currently stuck at just 6 so far.

It's like Rotten Tomatoes made sure to put them all out first.

While a lot of the positive reviews are pouring in... at least 20 if you're keeping track.

WB is sure taking their precious time updating their site.

In a movie that's over 2 hours? Just fine as long as it sets up the Avengers while at the same time wraps up Captain America.

Lol you almost reiterated my point word for word..... I like you! :awesome:

I'm convinced now that the positive reviews are coming in. This will not go way of the Green Lantern, thank goodness. The Tomatometer will definitely go well into the fresh rating soon.

I'm not going to be able to see it until Sunday and will be losing sleep over it until then!! :woot:

Yeah, but the damage Rotten Tomatoes has done has already started.

Just log on to Twitter.

Everyone is now saying this movie is rotten and retweeting it to their followers, just based on Rotten Tomatoe's last tweet.

First impression counts... a lot.

P.S.

Notice Rotten Tomatoes only have been tweeting negatives about Captain America, but other movies like "Friends with Benefits" have been silent.
I do think studios pay off sites and reviewers to hype or trash certain films. Honestly though I don't know why anyone is concerned. The lowest rated blockbuster this summer (aside from Green Lantern) was Transformers: Dark of the Moon and that crushed the freaking Box Office.
