I'll get the iPhone XS Max next month. Shame my X just picked up a scratch as that will cost me £240 at trade in time.

A nicer looking Pixel 2 XL which isn't bad. I was hoping they wouldn't fall prey to the notch.

The iPhone XS Max is my favourite phone ever. With the battery case too that thing is solid - a beast! Perfect size and shape.

I just purchased a multi-device keyboard and mouse with a little phone/tablet stand on the keyboard.

It's pretty fun to use a regular sized keyboard and mouse with a phone then be able to use the same device on a tablet pc with a click of a button (doesn't matter if different operating systems on different devices too). A pretty nice arrangement that even allows customizable gestures and keyboard functions.

Both of the following utilize the same Logitech Options Software and can be connect to the same "unifying receiver" on my laptop (I have older windows 7) along with bluetooth on my phone:
    Logitech M720 Triathlon Multi-Device Mouse
    Logitech K780 Multi-Device Keyboard

A good convenience while around the house whether in front of cpu or in living room.

Other devices for phone and cpu purchased recently:
*Also purchased the HP Envy Photo 7855 that is an all-in-one color printer(both photos and documents)/scanner/fax machine/copier for $150.00. It can be accessed via my phone while away or cpu at home. I got 5 months of free ink for HP Direct then 2.99 per month (costs over $40.00 if pick-up at store).

*Not to mention the circle 2 security camera from Logitech that I can also play around with on my phone via a cloud based website (live feed only turns on when access but event recordings turn on whenever motion and notifies me on phone). Not the best of the current security cameras perhaps but works with my older android and free 24 hr storage on website.

While I'm at it, I think I'll try that Digits program over at T-Mobile that somehow works even with the FCC's regulations here in the states. The 2 phones, 1 phone number thing I thought was something people could only do in certain European countries like Germany? There must be some dual-sim thing going on I suppose to still work within the FCC regulation...

In either case, this work-around makes me want to upgrade to an I-phone XS while keeping my old phone to take to work. I don't know if I want to switch from my current plan though that's only like 30.00 a month for unlimited data/text/talk w/3G hotspot and no overage charges though with a pre-paid non-MVNO carrier though... That'll maybe be for the next year if get more room in budget.

*By the way, I looked at the XR today. Digital zoom but no optical like the XS and also few other camera software tricks like dual focus the XR lacks as well as the obvious no OLED display. I suppose in 2020 maybe I'll have an OLED phone that can double as a remote (not to mention Smarthhome hub) to compliment an OLED TV as well...:cwink:

I'm thinking about downgrading to the blue XR or a Nokia 7.1 Plus.

Nah fam. I mean the Surface Phone is supposedly very similar to the Galaxy Fold in the basic idea, but I never been eager for it.

I do like the 0-Infinity Display they're pushing this year and hey the headphone jack is coming back:

I meant Infinity-O display, sorry. It's the screens with a hole for the camera and sensors to poke through. No notch required.

Oh right, gotya. I guess that’s cool, didn’t bother me too much in the first place.

Looking forward to the new tech for next year.

Eh, I don't know how I feel about this Infinity-O display. I guess it's less intrusive than the notch which I dislike.

Am I a crazy person for thinking about buying a Windows phone at this point?

I'm honestly kind of in love with this.

No way am I endorsing Snazzy Labs (he's hit and miss for me), but I think his experience with it will answer some questions using it now. Also MS is already dropping support for WM10 devices.

I like some of the points he brought up and yeah I am aware they dropped support but I don't think that will be a huge problem for me, I don't use too many apps.
He doesn't point out anything about the continuum functionality that I'm mostly interested in. :\

I can’t decide between a iPhone XS Max, XS or XR.
The XR is a better price but with less features. Is the XS phones worth the extra money?

Mmm. That Galaxy S10 family looks great. If I had to pick a phone this year, it would be the S10+ or Mate 20 Pro.

Not a fan of Samsung's Infinity-O, but I have to say that I've been entertained by the user-made wallpapers for the S10 devices.

What are folks opinions on a notch, punch-hole or slider cameras? We should get a poll going or something. I'd be curious to see the results.

Not gonna lie, I'm leaning towards the slider mechanism. The Mi Mix 3, with the Pixel Experience rom looks very tempting at around $450-500. Essentially a Pixel with no notches, all screen, and a very good Sony lens camera.

I think the real future is what Sharp is doing. Making candy bar phones into clamshells to make them more compact. That's the future.

I disagree. The reason Samsung's Galaxy Fold works well is that it is essentially a narrow 4.6" touch screen that folds out to a mini tablet. That makes sense. It's pocketable, and comfortable to hold. Of course, I still think we're 2-3 years from it being "perfected" but it's way more consumer friendly in that form factor.

The Sharp concept I believe you're referring to essentially takes a regular large smartphone and folds it into an awkwardly square phone. The Galaxy Fold having 2 devices in one whereas with the Sharp concept you only have 1 usable format when it's unfolded.
