Bay is a talentless ass clown of a director. The ONLY film of his that has ANY merit is Transformers - a film that by most standards wasn't very good except for the action sequences. The story was totally ludicrous, the acting was mediocre, and it followed every damn formulaic, contrived filmic trope in the book. And in all truth - it's not hard to see Spielberg's style spread throughout.
I'm sorry, but I don't want Superman to have action sequences just for the sake of them. There's a lot of depth to Superman, and Bay would never be able to do him justice. Tell me one damn movie where Bay gave us complex, rich characters. The man has given us no evidence that he is capable of a shred of originality. Anyone who knows standard screenplay formulas can see Bay coming from a mile away.
He makes movies like I make dinner - first we need this ingredient, and then that ingredient, put it in the oven for a while and.... presto, you've got something that may look and taste good, but nothing special, interesting, or lasting. A few hours later, all it is is crap. It's a sad fact that the majority of movie watching audiences these days settle for such laziness. If you were to convert his films into books, they'd be the worst pieces of garbage ever. It takes more than a bunch of CG, explosions, and pointless Folly work to make a good movie.
