The Official Choose A Director Thread

LOL....

Man, no one has ever learned to compromise in the Supes forums after all these years. It's just an endless cycle in here.

To many split factions of Superman fans who have their own agendas.

Ridiculous...

Yeah...And you know what happens to people who are not able to compromise... **wink, wink**

So what is the compromise, Snyder is perfect for Superman?

He basically said that in so many words, he didn't say those words directly.

Come one Show...

He already told WB thanks but no thanks in regards to Superman, and they asked him to in fact do a dark Superman. I'm not sure what I'm missing.

You're missing Zac Snyder Fanboyism 101

They asked him to do a "darker" Superman film?

And if he said no....when?

Within the last 3 months? Or was it a year ago?

That's not true at all. A lot of people who would want a straight-up sequel starring Routh have been and are willing to have a revamp/reintroduction, etc. starring Routh, saying it might just be the best way to make as many people as possible happy. That is called a compromise.

really?
are you now gonna tell me that the sky is blue?

whats with people always repeating ''its an opinion''?
why?

Hm.. because it IS?

When someone says "Director X is not right for Superman", this is an opinion, and not the absolutely true like he wanted to make others to believe.

Btw, why are u so angry? Relax.

Wow, Does it matter? He said "No". And where in the world did he ever share his "vision" of Superman?

Come on, it's not what you want to have been said but what was said.

They were talked to him in 2007 and 2008 while they were throwing around sequel and reboot ideas.

The compromise is that Snyder would be a good choice with the right material.

If he has in fact said no recently, than thats too bad.

I personally have no problem with the guy directing, but if is Birthright on screen. No thanks.

Wouldn't that work both ways though, ie "Director X IS right for Superman."

Boy....does it take a rocket scientist to try and figure out where Zack Snyder would take the Superman films?

Absolutely!

A director can be a good choice for Superman (like i think Snyder would be), but that doesnt mean that he is the ONLY choice for it. I have never said that. ;)

Elements of Birthright, not a straight up adaptation of Birthright panel for panel.....

Nolan used multiple Batman stories as influences for what he was doing with Batman. That should be done with Superman....obviously.

And now you plan to speak for the guy? Amazing, I didn't know such pyschic abilities were available on these boards. To hell with psychic friends network.

And now for his next trick he'll solve our economic crisis and bring world peace.

Elements I am all for and I am all for Nolan's approach, but the point of all this mish mash is that Snyder has yet to approach it this way based on the two comic films he has done.

It matters cause things can change with writers and a story and of course $$$$$$$$

I still don't know why you would want someone to direct a Superman film when they apparently have ZERO desire to?!

It's like wanting Peter Jackson to do it. You like his mvoies and think if he could use the same mentality on Superman that he did on Lord of the Rings it'd be fantastic.

What he's failing to grasp is that Directing is an art form much like painting. When you paint something you like it always comes out better than something you were just paid to paint. The key is to get paid for painting something you like.

Indeed! Well said

I realize he said no at one point.

I'm just making arguments that he would bring something interesting to the table which hasn't been seen before in a Superman film visually.

Some in here think he wouldn't do a good job....and I think he would have.

At least WB's has already made the effort to go after him. I applaud the effort.

Well I guess we'll never know.

Let's just hope WB gives us Superman fans a director who loves the character and can make an amzing film.

Though they already had one and chose not to use him again, but I digress....
