And soul vision.
I usually don't agree with the TS on much (except us both liking Superman), but this isn't a bad idea at all. Meyer is a great writer and director when it comes to seeing an idea to fruition and letting the characters shine (even when it's an ensemble piece...which is tougher for some writers). Plus, he's good enough to work Shakespeare into Star Trek and make it cool. Anyone who can do that is fine by me. Plus, he's economical. If WB is looking for a director who can do much with less...he'd be one of my top choices (next to maybe Joss Whedon).
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!. Dude not even close. The plane sequence from SR was so lackluster & boring I thought Superman droaning on with Lois at the DP rooftop was more exciting. The plane sequence was just a cheap redo of the STM plane save & when you consider it was 2006 when SR came out, the action with the plane in STM almost looked better constructed & more epic in feel. SR was nothing more than a cheap knock off of STM with similar scenes but just not done as well.
Steve
For it's time maybe that was an iconic and best 'super' sequence but I don't agree that it's the best of any at this point.
As much as I don't like SR, I'd even say the plane rescue in that tops Donner's helicopter rescue in excitement.
I do love the smile on Chris's face when Lois says "But who's got you?!" while holding onto her and the chopper.

I wouldn't call it a ripoff, per se. It's an obvious homage to a key element of the comics.
How is using stuff that happened in the comics a rip-off? Isn't that what people want to see? The Dark Knight did plenty of that and people loved it.
....The plane sequence is what I use to show off my blu-ray player, TV and sound system. It looks and sounds that good.

t:Watching the Transformers blu-ray HUD feature and it said that "At one point Michael Bay considered directing Superman Returns." This happened when the John Tuturro character stripped down to his singlet with a logo in front like the Superman insignia.
I know for many fans Bay better not even come close to a Superman film, but I for one would be very excited. At least he would make Superman look good, and at this point that's what I want, hopefully with a decent script.
He certainly fits the 'director' Millar has been referring to.
here's the thing, Bay on his own scares me. Moreover, SR looked really good, equally as good as a bay movie, but ironically, like many of bay's movies, it lacked a worthwhile story to carry the action and imagery. We'd end up with the same thing, unless he had another 'hollywood super power' pulling the narrative string behind the scenes, as he did with Transformers
