The Official Contest of Marvels 3 Discussion Thread

Oh, and did we decide if Loki was too uber of a magic user? I don't recall what we said about that.

There is no reason for Vidar to be dropped given he is just a bit better then other Asgardians.

Fandral should be dropped because he is eaither a giant wolf who eats the world which is tuber or a man sized werewolf type who can get winded by Captain America.

You're thinking Fenris, which is dropped. Fandral is the swordsman from the Warrior Three.

So do we want to take Vidar and the Warriors Three (Hogun, Vulstagg, Fandral) off the list completely, add to keep, or what? Vidar's slightly better than typical Asguardians and the Warriors Three are three of the best Asguardian Warriors there are. They may be no Thor but they're a heck of a lot better than a lot of people already approved. I can always just put them on the potential list to be debated later when the main list is finished so we can move on.

Let's just keep them on potential. If we have room for them, we can add them. I'm not against them, per se, but I don't think we need multiples of essentially the same character (above average Asgardian).

Of course, we do have 3 or 4 symbiotes. ;)

Sounds good.

Moonstone
Penance (Robbie Baldwin)
Radioactive Man
Songbird
Speed Demon
Venom (Mac Gargan)

Potential
Charcoal - Sounds good but I'm having trouble finding much info on him.
Joystick
Fixer
Swordsman

Drop
Atlas - We already have numerous size changers and nothing about him really sticks out for me.
Blizzard
Jolt
Mach IV
Plant Man

Keep
Baron Zemo (W/O Moonstones) - He is too uber with the moonstones; plus, like last season, it proved a big pain in the butt defining him that way. I just remember going round and round debating how powerful he was/should be, and it was more of a headache than it was worth.
Bullseye
Fixer - Vast potential, and has gone pretty far, if I remember right, in both seasons.
Gravitron - This is debatable. I defeated him as Iron Man; but, that was by the skin of my teeth, because he could be interpreted as WAY TOO UBER.
Green Goblin (Norman Osborn)
Joystick - Pretty cool character, especially when it was revealed the extent of her powers.
Mach IV
Moonstone
Penance (Robbie Baldwin)
Radioactive Man
Songbird
Speed Demon
Venom (Mac Gargan)

Potential

I just remember going round and round debating how powerful he was/should be, and it was more of a headache than it was worth. As he is without, I think we have more interesting characters who could take his place.
Charcoal - Again, like above, we have more interesting characters.
Plant Man - Depending on location, he can be pretty powerful.

Drop
Atlas - We already have numerous size changers and nothing about him really sticks out for me.
Blizzard
Jolt
Swordsman - Not much to him, and he have waay cooler characters in the Potential category.

If Zemo with the stones is too uber (he may be, I don't know him well) then I say drop his character. Without them he does nothing for me at all.

Hmm...I'm liking these updates. Maybe I'll just be the last voter from now on. :p

I'll say, right now, that I'll rank non-moonstone Zemo as potential. He's got intellect and resources, and does carry a number of weapons on him. Sort of like Mr. Fantastic. Just not as stretchy.

Keep
Fixer
Joystick (I think I had her before and made it a round or two with her)
Swordsman
Mach IV

Graviton, I don't know. And since we don't know, it's probably safer to tuber him.

I can probably do this list in five minutes but I have to leave for a wedding and won't be back until late. So maybe late tonight or tomorrow morning.

We're aiming for 512 characters and currently have 281 with all the X-Characters left to go through. I think we're doing pretty good so far.

175 characters left on the original list, added to 281 is 456. We went through the X-Characters pretty good, so chances are we'll get rid of a few more than add so we're going to probably be able to add quite a bit of potentials back onto the keep list.

Even with all the new additions we've done a heck of a job editing. I'm very excited about this new list thus far.

Also, since it looks like we'll have quite some room to play with after the initial Keep list is finished, is there any categories anyone feels we should go over that we haven't before?

I'm thinking Malibu could be fun. Characters like Prime, Lord Pumpkin, or Nightman could be fun to play with. And in case anyone's forgotten, Malibu is an extention of the Marvel universe. An extension of the 2099 universe could have some good characters to pick from. Though I wasn't a fan (haven't read a thing actually) of the New Universe maybe some picks from that place? Ultimate universe could have some people. Any other books? Anyone good from the Incredible Hercules book?

Did we already do a 2099 list? We definitely should if we haven't.

I'd rather keep it confined to the main Marvel universe (616 mostly), and keep offshoots like Malibu and Ultimate out of it.
