But where does he keep it and how does he make quick costume changes?

We wouldn't have to see or know that. It could be in the FOS or what have you...and he'd put it on in preparation for a huge showdown. By that time it's an all-out battle as Superman for all the marbles...how he's going to fit it under his Clark Kent clothes isn't an issue.

Maybe he always wears the chest plate.

Who doesn't remember those awesome Tony Stark shirt rips from the '80s?
Remember that awesome Romita JR. cover (forgot what issue, he's falling out of a helicopter)?
If Iron Man can wear the chest plate, so can Superman.
I'm sure we'll get the ol' shirt rip with the new armor.
Maybe he keeps the rest of it compressed in his pocket (if we are going back to silver age power levels) or perhaps in a suitcase nearby. Who knows?
I think it looks cool.
As a Superman fan for over thirty plus years, I'm all for this change.
The truth is that in five, ten, twenty years, they will change it all up again anyway!
It's fun to have these variations of Superman.
I would not be shocked if in a couple of years, we have separate ongoing series for the silver age Superman, another for the post Crisis Superman, and the current variation. (They're testing the waters with some retro books right now...if successful, it would be super awesome!)

The red shoulders improve it but it's still inferior to the classic. As was the Eradicator based costume that i suggested and cB was nice enough to manip in the other thread.
