The Amazing Spider-Man The Official Emma Stone/Gwen Stacy thread - Part 2

Not sure if it's been discussed, but how do people feel about Gwen knowing Peter's identity?

In the 616 she never knew Pete was Spidey, so we knew 100% she loved Peter for Peter, and their relationship wasn't affected by the secret identity (at least...until she died), and Peter had to keep a lot of secrets. What are people's thoughts on the difference?

i guess it ultimately depends on the story. I'd prefer her knowledge of him ends up putting her in some serious danger....

but yeah, over all... kinda wish she didn't. just to further separate her from how MJ should be.

The clip of her on Leno was great, what a Gal!

Yeah finally we actually have a likeable love interest!

I thought Gwen knowing would bother me but I think with countless people knowing spidey's id over the years i'v become less bothered about it, especially if it fits with and works well within the story.

She did something more useful than Raimis MJ ever did, with more chemistry between actors.- FACT.

That's not fact at all. There was definitely true chemistry throughout the first film and second between Tobey and Kirsten.

I'd say more so in the first film. The second film was more tension than chemistry.

But you had to have some kind of chemistry to even have tension, imo.

In Spider-Man 3, I've always said none of the actors really pushed themselves and there didn't feel like there was ANY chemistry in that film.

I can agree there. There was something, but due to how the relationship played out I never really felt MJ and Peter were good together anyway. The first film had some great moments between the two of them (upside down kiss is still incredibly iconic...don't know how Webb could top that)...the second I can understand the tension over the romance, especially seeing how Peter kept messing with MJ's head (unintentionally) due to his indecisiveness and moral battle. The third was just so against both their characters that I just attribute it to poor writing.

Tobey had no chemistry, it felt, with Kirsten or with Bryce in S-M 3. It all just seemed off. I there there was more of a consistent feel of chemistry between JJJ and Hoffman and Brant.

The daily bugle staff were one of my favourite parts of Raimi's movies. Hoffman was brilliant comedic relief. Even three had some great moments.

JJJ: You want a staff job, and you want a staff job...doesn't anyone care what I want?
Hoffman: I do.
JJJ: Shut up. Get out.

Betty: Mr. Jameson, your wife just called, she said she lost the chequebook.
JJJ: Thanks for the good news!

JJJ: Flowers?! If you spend any more you can pick the daisies off my grave. Get plastic.

Among the many, many others.

I loved Tobey and Kirsten together, especially in the first two films. I saw TONS of chemistry. I'm not much into the romance crap in movies at all, but I cared about the two of them. If you didn't, oh well. Your opinion, and that's fine. :)

I haven't watched many clips for The Amazing Spider-Man (just the trailers/teasers/whatever), so I haven't seen enough of Andrew and Emma to determine whether they were going to have good chemistry or not. Then again, trailers shouldn't show you everything. I'm in the "wait and see" boat. Andrew and Emma are both good actors, so I can't imagine the chemistry being nonexistent ...

They should have at least some chemistry to a degree since they're dating, haha.

Haha well Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson are apparently dating, and we ALL know how their chemistry is in the Twilight movies. lol.

That is probably one of the reasons those movies aren't exactly praised by everyone on the internet lol. That, and the fact that people want to sound funny even though they probably haven't actually seen any Twilight movies. I haven't.

I believe it was confirmed that they were dating after they filmed the second one? And I know people were making fun of the two of them way before that.

Anywho, I've seen the first two Twilight movies, and part of the third (I couldn't finish it for the life of me) ... It's every bit as bad as you've heard, trust me. Haha.

I'm not saying that Andrew and Emma are going to be like Twilight. I'm just saying that bad chemistry COULD happen between the two whether they're dating each other in real life or not. I personally doubt they'll be bad, but none of us will fully know until we see the movie.

The difference, though, is that "KStew" is a horrible actress. She probably has no clue how to make chemistry on the set. My only complaint of Snow White and the Hunstman was her. Emma and Andrew, they are fantastic actors. Robert Pattinson...he's only "meh". I'm sure he can do better than the god-awful Twilight films.

Actually, Kristen Stewart isn't bad, it's just that the material of the Twilight series is horrible for any actress cast in the role of Bella. Same goes for Pattinson.

umm she's acted the same (mediocre) in every movie i've seen her in.. Twilight, Snow White, Into the Wild, The Messengers, The Runaways, hell... i think her best acting was pre-pubecent in Panic Room...

she has no emotional range... she is the female Keanu Reeves.

Yah, she's terribly awful in every movie she's in. Just saying it's because of the Twilight films is giving Stewart too much credit.
