I hope we get four films instead of just a trilogy. If the sequel brings in Mary Jane and builds up some tension between all three, then having Gwen die in the third movie, the fourth could be all about Peter and MJ.

Agreed. I really want to see it too. For some reason, I imagine it being one of those scenes where you don't hear what the characters are saying and all you hear is the score. Imagine it transitioning into that as Peter is trying to save Gwen by shooting the web that would kill her.

That would make for such an epic scene.

Agreed I imagine something like that for the scene with Gwen's death.

I'm hoping for six with the sixth ending with Spider-Man's last stand and death.

Thank the Lord you don't have any say in this movie.

Six films. Death in the last? What's so hard to get about that?

Or we could have Peter pass the Spidey legacy on to someone else.

Either way, Peter Paker Spider-man should be no more by the end of the series, IF it goes 6 films.

Lamest.

****.

Ever.

Because Peter Parker doesn't need to die. Everyone around him dies anyways, why would you kill Peter as well?

Yeah Peter should never die. They want these movies to continue on and on and on like the Bond movies so you constantly reinvent and pull out other parts of the mythology to keep the character fresh on screen but you don't end the main characters life. There's no need to when there are so many stories to tell and so many actors to keep fulfilling the role of the title character. If they chose to kill him, then there will just be another reboot, best believe

Agreed. There aren't that many super hero movies out there that kill off love interests. it could be really interesting to see played out on screen.

TDK killed off Rachel, but to be honest, that didn't elicit much of an emotional response for me. Seeing Emma's Gwen die at the hands of the main villain, not some recast, has the potential to be a fantastically emotional scene.

Rachel Dawes dying, even if it was a recast, didn't play some huge emotional response to a lot of people because she was only created for Nolan's films and not a major character as Gwen Stacy is.

I didn't care so much for Rachel dying as I did for Bruce's reaction to that. How he was on the edge of giving up being Batman, etc.

Agreed.

The Dark Knight was a great movie and its one of my favorites, but I didn't care that much when rachel died. I hope Gwen Stacy dies in a sequel, and I hope they do it well so it is emotional and you feel the sadness that Peter feels.

I don't think Rachel's death was supposed to make an impact for anyone in the audience either because she's not a "major" player, but the effect on Bruce and Harvey is what the audience was supposed to understand, as Troy mentioned.

Exactly.

Yeah that is a good point. It wouldn't hurt if it did though, I guess. I still hope that Gwen's death (if there is one) has an impact on the audience because her death doesn't have to do a lot with a villain, the way Rachels death had a large impact on Two Face.

This would be great.
