lol My thoughts exactly, it is pretty much a given that we will see something in December based on the same timing X-Men had.

They will probably do what they did for X-Men 2s very first Teaser )which came out 2 weeks after shooting started) & simply shoot specific scenes for the Teaser Trailer specifically so that gives more time for sfx & then continue shooting

Am I the only one who thinks that it would be better if they at least had a teaser of some sort for the fall. I know they don't have any footage shot, but I know that the anticipation for a film is increased for me when they drop a teaser, that may or may not have actual film footage, almost a year before. Build the anticipation early, and then hit it again a few months later with actual footage, and then again a few months before the premeire. Start the saturation early (but don't overdo it) to get the average viewer excited. My 2 cents.

I'm afraid this franchise doesn't have the weight to pull that off. That works for a highly anticipated movie - like Star Wars or Superman - but I don't know if it will work for FF.

I think they need to make a statement with their trailer: "This film is going to be MUCH bigger and better than the last one." I think the trailer needs to knock the audience's socks off.

F4-2 teaser trailer has to compete with a LOT of teaser or second trailers coming this fall/winter for BIG movies releasing in summer 2007.

Spider-man 3 second trailer, shrek 3 teaser trailer, POTC 3 teaser trailer, 300 teaser trailer, TMNT second trailer, Transformers second trailer, ghost rider second trailer.

I am pretty darn sure there will be trailers for each one of those movies in winter.

F4-2 trailer has to be really really good so that it can make it into the TOP 5 anticipated movies on each and every major movie related site.

this is good, as both eragon and night at the museum look to be big hits this holiday season for the family audiences.

Wow Fox is really trying to rush this out. Well good for them. They got a lot OF COMPETITION considering they are two weeks after POTC3 which very well could be the highest grossing movie of the year and a month after the other runner for that said title in Spider-Man 3 (which is in a very similar genre as FF2). They need to convince audiences that this isn't hte mediocre tripe they released under the tranished Fantastic Four banner in 2005.

The problem is, what if it is what if it is the same mediocre tripe? And please don't say you trust Fox, after Elektra, Fantastic Four, and X3 (which should've been SO good so the fact that it was mediocre makes it the most disappointing of the lot) were the last superhero movies they "attempted."

Not trying to be negative though.
