The OFFICIAL FINAL CRISIS THREAD

I can see by that Cover that this event is gonna be a weird one.
Well yeah, Morrison is writing it.

Reading the solicit, I got excited when I saw the part about The Question, then I remembered it's not really him, and now I'm dead inside. :csad:

I heard Rucka did good work with Questoya, but I can't bring myself to read it. Every time I see her, I think about how much she shouldn't be the Question.

Do NOT tell me they are going to kill a Flash AGAIN! If one has to die, make it Jay Garrick. He's had his day for 60 years.

It's Bart. There's ice, fire, and lightning around him. The Rogues' number include Captain Cold, Heatwave, and Weather Wizard. Which Flash do we know of who was killed by the Rogues?

They already killed Bart. So there's no one in the wings to step in a take over anyway.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that cover is just meant to illustrate why the Rogues are in such dire straits in the first place.

Why? They went to a lot of trouble to bring Wally back.

Havent you noticed the return of the "Silver Age" thats been happening for the last couple of years?????

With the return of the multiverse last year and Earth 2's JSA later this year all they really need to do is bring Barry back and its complete.

I still say Barry is heading back to the yet unlabeled Earth-1 where he belongs.

Yeah, but they're still progressing some things. Wally's got kids and a family life now, Roy's in the JLA, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Barry came back, but I wouldn't consider it a given.

Well I did say it was what I was thinking not a fact.

But given what has already transpired in the last few years it seems like a good bet to me.

Don't how I missed this Geoff Johns/Kolins interview earlier...

NRAMA: Yeah, but ... there's a dying Flash, and the word Crisis is going to be on the cover. That's bound to raise some questions, even if it does focus on the death of Bart Allen. Can you tell us why you chose this dying Flash image as the new cover, Geoff?

GJ: Draw your own conclusions.

Rogue's Revenge is now officially a Final Crisis tie-in, 3 oversized issues instead of 6 regulars.

There will be two covers for each issue, mimicking the Final Crisis format. One will be a "sliver" cover highlighting an important scene in the issue, and the other will highlight a Rogue. The first issue Rogue is Captain Cold:

I like the idea of it been reduced to over sized issues.

The Civil War covers, I felt were great! I didn't buy Civil War for the covers though, I bought it cause it is Millar and a freakin' event book ;) But everyone fills up the whole cover... doing it the way civil war did immediately stands out. Civil War's covers also had an interesting advantage when done the way they were-- if you lay out your comics vertically, and stagger them, at least in the stores, often times you're covering the bottom half of the last cover anyways. So it makes a little bit of sense to draw it the Civil War way.

And I think DC will rock with Final Crisis. I mean, Crisis itself is almost like a brand or something. Marvel calls its events so many different names, you know that Crisis means event when you deal with DC. And I can't wait.

I wonder how much stuff from JLA #0 takes place after final crisis?

That's a good question, but I don't know if all of the events will be strictly cannon, or if they are one of many futures for the characters. I don't think Meltzer looked forward to Final Crisis, and I don't think Morrison consulted Meltzer's JLA 0 for guidance...

No, I don't suspect Morrison holds much of Meltzer's work in high esteem at all.

Oh and apparently there's some Legion-related stuff that's gonna factor, but I haven't been reading that either and I think I'll be fine.

Case in point, DC Universe #0 cover:

YAY! If this cover is anything to go by, at least The Joker will have a role to play (however small) in the impending Final Crisis... :woot:
