Couldn't Help But Make This Thread So Soon :oldrazz:
I'm a huge fan of the flash, Justice League/Unlimited definitely won me over with Wally's part in the series.
So yeah discuss here who you would like as your preferred Flash: Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, Bart Allen; and who you would like to be cast as them :D

After all the Superman and Batman news, I just hope they can pick a good & clever candidate for The Flash.

I hate to diss on Ryan Reynolds because I feel like he'll surprise me with Green Lantern, but that was just..too safe of a choice. Solid but safe.

Meanwhile, Ryan Gosling would be killer.

Still would like to see Chris Pine as Flash! I made this quick manip:
Nice!

I’ll post this again since we’re all newie in this thread.

I'd like to see Zach Levi bulk up some to take on Wally West if they ever chose to do it, as I know he's been wanting the role.

He's my number one choice for the role.

Ryan Phillippe as The Flash/Barry Allen

Amy Adams for Iris West

That we be just such an amazing looking on-screen couple. Both gorgeous and both extremely wonderful performers. Phillippe is such an overlooked actor, IMO, and he has said over and over again that one of his biggest dreams is to play a superhero. I think he'd be perfect for Barry Allen.

Marc Guggenheim talks to SciFiNow about the Green Lantern sequel and the upcoming Flash film

http://www.scifinow.co.uk/blog/an-interview-with-the-green-lantern-writer/

It’s been established that Michael, Greg and you are also writing The Flash. What’s the appeal of the character of Barry Allen and The Flash for you?
The Flash – to me – is about pure expression. Flash is untethered to the limitations of time and space – he can be everywhere at once and with that, I think, comes a certain freedom. Who hasn’t wanted to be faster? To get someplace quicker? And because Flash does so by means of running – instead of, say, flying or teleporting – there’s an athleticism to the wish fulfillment that other superheroes don’t have. When Greg, Michael and I are talking about the character, we speak a lot in athletic terms. There’s a component of this movie that’s a lot like a sports movie, at least in terms of the language and physicality and mental toughness in what the Flash goes through.

The general audience familiar with The Flash may look at him as the superhero who runs really fast and not see much beyond that. For those people, how would you define the complexities of this character?
Well, it’s all about who the character – in this case, Barry Allen – is before he gets his powers. We spent a lot of time talking about who Barry is and, specifically, why he’s the kind of guy we want to see get these powers bestowed on him. What’s missing in his life? What problems does he have? What personal foibles? And how are all those things impacted by the ability to run fast? I don’t want to spoil the answers that we came up with, but this was very much our approach: You make running fast interesting by creating a character who is challenged and fulfilled by getting the ability to run fast.comic.

More at link above...

(I hope this is a News specific thread because the other one is really a poll and wish thread, and finding any actual news or information in it about the actual movie is next to impossible.)

When you have an interview like that, was it off limited to ask Marc when the movie will get the 'go ahead'?

I'd love to see the Rogues get their day in the limelight in a second film. It's great, because with the CSI angle, you can sort of plant the seeds for them in the first film and then they get all gimmicky later. In a group, they can be really interesting, and are ripe for that kind of two different problems, how do you solve them both at once type of drama, and their origins don't have to be that hard. They're all criminals with different personalities that we can establish in a single scene conversation. All their 'origin' needs is one guy to bring them together and provide them with gimmicks. I can see Capt. Cold leading them into whatever high tech lab/manufacturing place to get Wizard his rod, and Heat Wave his gun and Mirror Master the stuff that pushes him through mirrors, add in Captain Boomerang as a talented 'wannabe' and Golden Glider as a reluctant villain and call it a day. De-camp their tech though, but yeah, easy peasy.

I actually think that'd be pretty cool. I'd love to see a Rogues gallery put together similarly to the Suicide Squad (or Taskforce X) on JLU. Their costumes are easy enough to do as well. Cold's parka, Heatwave's flame ******ant suit, Weather Wizard a green jacket with the colars up. Of course they'd all wear masks to conceal their identities (I'd hope but I'd be fine without it).

Cool... Zoom, being the uttermost needs to have his time to shine in the third film, but I never know who I want in the first film. Abra Kedabra? -shrug- I just never get it. It'd be nice to retcon some villain into accessing the speed force for some different effect. It's hard to say. Adding in a minor rogue as a minor villain could be fun too. Say, a pumped up Captain Boomerang, so the sequel's Capt Boomerang could be the speedster armed-variety.

Huh. It's hard to imagine someone that isn't a rogue in the first movie. I always thought of Captain Cold as Flash's nemesis but does he really have one? I mean I always considered Zoom to be his Venom of sorts. Venom being Spider-man's doppleganger but the Green Goblin still being his nemesis.

Captain Cold, Weather Wizard, The Top, Mirror Master, Trickster, hell even The Turtle. Any of these guys can carry their own movie.

Ah! Dr. Alchemy! Barry being a forensic scientist and all, Dr. Alchemy would be the perfect first villain. He'd create mysteries that wouldn't even begin to make sense to a forensic scientist. Maybe he can even frame someone or a certain group of people he's after.

^Yes. Dr. Alchemy. Captain Cold is definitely his nemesis, and like the Joker or Lex Luthor, he manages to be a major threat without being a physical match. He's awesome. Especially because, via temperature, he's also playing with physics.

I can't see most rogues carrying a movie on their own. Dr. Alchemy and Captain Boomerang would be a great way to start things out, Dr. Alchemy being the Ra's and Captain Boomerang being the Scarecrow, for lack of a better word. Captain Boomerang is the crackpot 'first rogue' with a brilliant trigonometric mind. Dr. Alchemy is another CSI with a double personality that goes bad on Barry. It could even be that his attempt to rediscover or create the philosopher's stone are why the specific chemicals that create the Flash are there. It could be that Desmond and Barry are good friends.

Could be a lot of fun.

I usually hate casting...

Barry Allen - Zachary Levi (Chuck)
Iris West - Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Book of Eli not That 70s Show)
Wally West - Max Records (Where the Wild Things Are)
Albert Desmond - Ed Norton (The Incredible Hulk, Fight Club)
Digger Harkness - Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings)
Jay Garrick - John Wesley Shipp (The original Flash TV series)
Ashley Zolomon - Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars)
Cpt. Gil Barrow - Chi McBride (Human Target)

My thoughts.

I know there's no rush if The Flash is coming out in 2013, but I wonder when we'll get some NEWS!

Iris West - Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Book of Eli not That 70s Show)

Is there a different Mila Kunis that looks and sounds exactly like the one from That 70's Show, or are you being foolish and ignoring that she'll probably act differently depending on the part she's given?

Those are great ideas. Alchemy's chemicals mixed with the lightning creating The Flash inadvertently would be great. Plus I can see Boomerang working with him because he's not like the other Rogues. He actually has a skill. The other Rogues can and probably will be given gadgets. Like you said, Boomerang could just be really good at his craft and the main focus (like Scarecrow) until Alchemy lets himself be known.

Oh and I REALLY like that cast but I'm wondering why you chose Mila Kunis. That's kind of an odd choice. Monaghan as Boomerang is inspired though.

I think Albert Desmond's original criminal identity, Mr. Element, would be a better fit, for being science-based and easier to explain. Besides, with some modifications (Maybe taking cues from the Alex Petrov version), he'd have a great on-screen look.

Mila is a beautiful girl. Her parents are from Ukraine, so she has nice exotic Eastern European features. However I don't think she's right for Iris, who has red hair and fair skin. I mean, it doesn't mean Mila isn't suited for the role, but she looks nothing like Iris even if she dyed her hair.

Villains like Grodd, no matter how much comic fans like them, are part of why people still make fun of comics. :(

Villains like Grodd are what make comics great.
