I never understood how Bart came to be

why didnt they just say that before Barry died, him and Iris did the dirty deed and then Bart was born instead of him being Barry and Iris's grandson from the future

But if Im correct it involves time traveling or something. Its just really weird to me

A comic twilight zone. Flash died in Crisis before his book canceled. So hi slast story 'took place in teh recent past'. It ended with Barry going to the Future with Iris. The Assumption then was that the two had several weeks or months with 30th century medicine solving any problems with producing heirs dealt with and Barry came back to the 20th Century to die before the twins were born.

Did they retcon that away????

I'm not so sure thats "NEW EARTH" Wally or Barry.

Look at Superman,PowerGirl and Red Tornado.

Superman has white hair on the sides, like earth 2's Superman.

PowerGirl is in her earth 2 costume.

Red Tornado has a new costume on [at least the boots area] and his "human like" face features are gone.

And to top it off "NIGHTWING" is there.

My guess thats an alternate earth of some kind.

Thats from the animal man mini set a few years in a possible future it's not connected to any thing going on. Unless Hal is going to die and be replaced by a whale (which naturally isn't a bad idea).

Parallax I get. The embodiment of the yellow portion of the spectrum, which represents fear, is logically a fearsome, scary-ass giant cockroach thing. But the embodiment of the green portion of the spectrum, which represents willpower, somehow wound up being a cuddly whale who has absolutely no willpower of its own?

Yeah, when you put it in that context, that's true. It really doesn't make much sense. That whole thing with Parallax never made a whole lot of sense to me, though, so I guess I don't really get any of it

The Whale in Animal Man is an actual Blue Whale from Earth, he's the Lantern for 2814.

He's also awesome.

The mini is a bit meh unfortunately.

That is pretty awesome. The Guardians should just give out all the GL rings to whales. It doesn't matter how many zombie heroes/villains Black Hand brings back, a GLC of whales would own

Parallax I get.

Parallax I don't get. I mean, look at any appearance Parallax made before Rebirth, and compare that to any appearance Parallax made after Rebirth (most of which happen to be written by Johns). They couldn't act more differently.

Also, the yellow avatar uses green energy. ...Uh huh.

Hal was evil, but he wasn't bat-s*** crazy like Parallax was in Rebirth and the Sinestro Corps war. Hell, in Final Night, he was practically a good guy again.

I mean, Parallax pre-Rebirth compared to Parallax post-Rebirth. Johns completely retooled Parallax's behavior to better fit his demonic-posession explanation for Hal turning evil without explaining why Parallax had never acted that way until we were told he was a giant cockroach.
