This links points out that Michael Goldenberg has been hired to write the script to Green Lantern 2.

May I point out that it seems like it's a non-confirmation that Greg Berlanti and his team will work (directly) on the script for The Flash.

Greg was hired to do treatments for Green Lantern 2 and The Flash a few months ago, then it would be decided which project they will work on as the screenwriters. Well, we pretty much got our answer.

Ya know what's funny - I was thinking the exact same thing this morning when I read that report :woot:

I want a flash movie sooooo bad!!!

Berlanti did say in that Comic-Con interview (with superherohype) that he was working on the Flash story/treatment with Green and Guggenheim and that Green and Guggenheim were set to write the script and would be doing so soon.

Berlanti also said he was a producer on Flash and gave no news on who would be directing.

Personally, I would love it if a guy like Edgar Wright can do it but he's got Antman coming up.

I never thought about that, but that would be really cool actually :woot: For a FLASH film, I think it needs a good balance of humor, action and even a healthy dose of science fiction. I would also like to see a sense of legacy in the movie as well. I would like to see Barry become the established Flash and have Wally there as well in a supporting role (with the possibility of become The Flash) is sequels.

I think we should something real soon about The Flash. I hope.

One thing I remember when the 3 of them were announced for Green Lantern way back when, they had written the script for that film relatively quickly, then the writers strike happened which put a road block on the production. I don't think we'll be hearing much more then news on the script and its progress for at least the next year or so, once GL comes out and if it does well I expect to hear more.

Yeah, if Greg Berlanti gets it, that's fine but there's no sense of how he is as a director. Even Jon Favs, you could tell he's a geek and had a vision despite his comedy background.

I do know that Greg is going to direct some episode in No Ordinary Family, so it'll give him a taste of visual effects and action.

I'm just glad to see this making some progress.

Not much but something. An interview with Greg Berlanti:

So what, if anything, are you reading now?

Gosh, you know, I'm catching up on a lot of Flash stuff, because I'm working on that with a couple of people. I'm going through a lot of issues in between.

Where are you right now, roughly?

I'm reading Geoff Johns' version, because I think he's fantastic. And I love going back to the Crisis era, with Marv Wolfman, and Flash going up against the Anti-Monitor, because it was such a great moment in super-heroes. You're the only person all day I'll be talking this distinctly about it. But I just thought his sacrifice, I remember crying and getting upset as a kid and that really registering with me.

There's more, but not a whole in the way of The Flash. But it's interesting to read his comments on Iron Man and Green Lantern.

i hope we hear of more flash film developments soon. I cant wait to see where the go with flash. There is so much they can do from what little i know of the flash's. So hopefully they will treat him right.

I think he can do it. I think Morrison is the Edward Norton type: He can be a little nerdy but he's still square-jawed and fit enough that he's not like Peter Parker. Also, he's at the right age level where he's young enough (31) to do the role justice. Youthful, but looks like he went through school and training to became a forensic scientist like Barry Allen.

Glee proves he can be funny, caring, passionate, and a leader, so I'm on the Morrison bus.

What are the possibilities that he could get an audition (if he wants to do it)? I have no idea because usually the casting process in Hollywood is either predictable or unpredictable.

My prediction is that they might get someone who is not known for action/comic book movies (like Morrison) with a slight comedic background (like Morrison..kinda).

I'd like to see the Flash mask/suit manip'd onto this facial expression. Can anybody do it good?

NPH would work very well as Barry Allen, heck he's already voiced the character in animation in JL:NF.

NPH would be pretty good. He's awesome in HIMYM. Or should i say Legendary?

I just watch the pilot of No Ordinary Family and I REALLY liked what they did with the super speed SFX. The scene where Julie Benz's character figured she can run fast and shes running through the freeway and every thing is in slo mo were great..and that was just a TV show.

I can't wait to see what they'll do for The Flash

Was it good? The commercials didn't really interest me and ABC has really let me down in the past (Legend Of The Seeker).

:awesome:
Danny Elfman on score.

As some have said before, Brad Bird would be a great choice, but unfortunately he's doing Mission Impossible.

It needs to be someone who can do something a little lighter than most superhero movies, yet not turn it into a complete comedy.

Neil Patrick Harris all the way as Barry or Wally. Both work just fine for me.

It would never happen, but it would be hilarious if the movie was a spinoff of the 90s series, with Wally as the lead and John Wesley Shipp as Barry in a supporting role.
