trust me, you're not the only one. i wonder what made them choose Chatwin
His features are very reminiscent of Goku. He also gives off that 'young hero' vibe when I see his pictures.
you mean to tell me that out of 8 years of competing you never saw a fighters with impressive physiques? were you competing in the kids tournaments?
I never said they were not impressive. However your extreame look on things leads me to belive you are looking for a Goku like Van dam or somthing. Martial artist have bodies like, brandon Lee, Jet lei, ernie reyes Jr., or his dad, ....i would say jacky Chan but when i refer to him i mean when he was young, because back then he was lean and riipped. With age the muscle structure of a male expands, that is why he is bulkier and wider today.
you don't watch Pride fighting or the UFC, do you?
i live for UFC by the way. But understand somthing, that is a caged fight that involves ALOT of Jujistu. It requires a totally diffrent body type then martial arts such as kung fu, tae kwon do, karate, muy thai, and kempo for example. there is a lot of Strenght needed for that. Also if you REALLY watched alot of ufc every guy is NOT that big, they are all very ripped up. For example rich "the ace" franklin is BIG and ripped, but hes an oddity. Most fighters have a St. Peire look, or a matt huges look. Muscular but more on the ripped side.
thanx for your input, but i still don't agree.
if they continue to make more, i wonder if they'll keep him in the role of goku
Facially, Chatwin matches what I think Goku would look like. Of course, I'm in North America, so I always interpreted the DBZ world (even the likes of Yamcha, Tien, and Krillin) to be Cauasian.
if they continue to make more, i wonder if they'll keep him in the role of goku
i don't know why you would think that. i've continually expressed that Goku doesn't even need to be big....just SOLID, like the martial artists you listed.I never said they were not impressive. true...but even when you look at fighters of standing martial arts they're still SOLID even if they're skinny. Bruce Lee....skinny as hell, but he was SOLID. most martial arts fighters, even if they're not diesel, still have SOLID bodies that look like they can take a few good hits. Chatwin, on the other hand, has what looks to be an unconditioned and undefined body that looks like he couldn't take a good kick to the ribs.i live for UFC by the way. i'd love to know how you came to the conclusion that i think i know more about life than you do...please next time before you anwser somone so ubruptly do not presume to know more then me about my LIFE!
we're talking about martial arts experience. that's not exactly the same thing as LIFE experience.well then you shouldn't feel insulted, since i never said you competed in kids tournaments. i simply asked if it was kids tournaments you were competing in. even if you did compete in kids tournaments, i don't know why you would consider that insulting. it's not as if kids can't handle their business. also, i wouldn't suggest speaking on behalf of those who dedicate their lives to martial arts just because you, personally, got offended by a simple question.Saying that i must have competed in kids tournauments is insulting to me, my 15 years of hard work and those who dedicate their lives in martial arts.
like i said...i don't mind if Goku's not cut or muscular, but at the very least i would've liked Goku to look SOLID. Chatwin looks frail.and NONE of them are really jacked up. not even my grand master Joon rhee.
Yeah but so am i and i always interpreted them as Asian but thats all moot we have our cast and thats that.
I'm surprised you said Krillin though hell he was ata Shao lin temple

IF they make more it's because the movie was a financial success, and they will keep him
It just needs to be good enough to merit a DBZ movie. We all know that a movie with Vegeta would inherently kick ass.

Duh! He's the Prince of all Saiyans dammit! It just needs to be good enough to merit a DBZ movie. We all know that a movie with Vegeta would inherently kick ass.
Yeah, I mean, everyone I know who watches DBZ loves Vegeta. He's my favorite character.Yep, there's not a lot of people who don't like Vegeta so they will especially enjoy the sequel.
Funny as ****.

Goku's alright, I find him a bit overated IMO. But I did find I liked him a lot more when comparing him to his Comics counterpart Superman.Personally, my favorite DBZ character is Goku/Gohan/Vegeta.
Tried!?!I love Superman & I actually like Superman more than Goku. Goku is still overrated though because Toei tried to make him superior to everybody else in the show.
Goku has saved the day in almost every saga. lol
