If you were to include Harvey Dent, how will you do it? Bruce's schoolmate who's showing early signs of insanity?

I hope we get to see Commissioner Loeb and a young Lucius Fox at some point.

@Young Superman: Captain Sarah Essen (Zabyrna Guevara) fills Loeb's role, so I doubt we'll see him.

^ Why? You do know that this show isn't adhering to comic timelines, right?

Maybe not that, but perhaps part of a story how Harvey's Dad is abusing him (supposedly, according to one background of Dent I remembered reading, is one of the reason for his psych problems later in life).

The series is set in the present in a Noir version of Gotham that is visually timeless.

What has that go to do with Loeb not being the Commissioner when Batman shows up? Show me specifically where someone from the show has said that Essen is a substitute for Loeb. Just because the story is in a contemporary setting has nothing to do with maintaining the basic timeline being as it is generally accepted.

They're clearly using characters from all over the place when it comes to the Barman mythology, which in and of itself sends the message that they're not adhering to any specific timetable(s) from the comics, and as far as Essen filling Loeb's role goes, most of what I've seen from Loeb has him being Gordon's immediate superior, a role that Essen fills here.

Yes, They are changing some things (but not everything), and yes, as Police Commissioner, Loeb is Lt. Gordon's superior when Batman starts his crusade some 15 - 20 years after the Wayne's murders. All I ask is to show me proof (i.e.. an official statement from the producers to that effect) that Essen is meant to be a substitute for Loeb other than you just guessing, because quite frankly this claim makes absolutely no sense. Why substitute one character for another one who's not meant o show up for another 20 years anyway?

Loeb being Commissioner when Bruce starts his career wouldn't stop the character from having been included in Gotham had they decided to use him, but they gave his role as Gordon's immediate superior to Sarah Essen. He could still be used, but he would be Essen's immediate superior rather than Gordon's, which changes his role in the story.

Which is it's main failure.

When Batman shows up, Riddler/Penguin/Joker(?)/etc. will all be in their late 40's. One punch and he'll destroy them, send them right to retirement.

Assuming Penguin is in his early 20s and same with Nygma. They'll be in their early 40s once Batman is starting out, with just a few years under his belt. For Penguin and Riddler i think that's great. Joker, not so much. I dont think we've seen him yet though. The showrunner said there's a few people that could be him, so the comedian probably wasn't. I love certain things about the Killing Joke but i also don't like the flashback stuff from that graphic novel. I dont want to ever see Joker before his accident/scars/makeup. For me Joker has no origin and should only be shown & referenced once Batman is present.

I dont like the idea of Selina being older than Bruce even if it's just a few years.

what's the problem man? Selina is what 13/14 and Bruce is 12. Doesn't make any difference.

Toy boy.

Seriously though, it's not like they're going to have sex any time soon.

and? That's not the point. What would've been weird is if Selina was same age as Gordon in this universe denying us the chance for a BatCat sex scene. :o

Im very fussy. I think Selina and Bruce should either be the same age or she should be 5 to 10 years younger. I mean, it doesn't bother me, why would it? But it's what i prefer to see. Same with Joker, i dont like him being 10 years older or 10 years younger than batman.

I understand the Joker thing and all the other villains they've set up being a lot older than Bruce when he takes up the Batman thing but a couple of years difference between him and Selina doesn't make any difference in reality.

My first fiance was 7 years older than me and the wife was 3 years older. So I don't see much of a problem.
