Given up on this show. Rant to vent my fanboy frustrations:

Fish Mooney is awful, cringe-inducing, I can't anymore. Why is Will Smith's anorexic wife playing a non-cannon character who is controlling Gotham and bossing around everyone? It's clear Mrs. Smith has no idea the tone of a comic book adaptation and thinks the audience are a bunch of 12 year olds who require OTT scene chewing villains. Her character is not needed. No one asked for it. I'm pretty sure the BATMAN UNIVERSE is not short of villains. Why create this role just for her? Star power?

Ivy Pepper? Fox genius exec$ thinking ''Pamela Isley'' is not a cool enough name for the kids of 2014 so have to change 50 YEARS of cannon to make it more obvious who her alter-ego is.

Why is Mr. Freeze replaced by Fish Mooney? Because he is not ''GROUNDEDREALNOLAN''?
They're pretending he doesn't exist and that pisses me off. He's a major villain and has a great Shakespearean story ideal to explore in this kind of dark, gritty setting.

These moron producers burying Killer Croc in an interview calling him ''a big crocodile guy'' or whatever. You can tell they wish they were doing Season 47 of CSI instead.

I don't care about any of the characters except Penguin. All of them are horribly portrayed.
Alfred is not Alfred. He's some Cockney geezer thug. Riddler is a parody and sounds so uncomfortable and out of place. Catwoman has such a annoying, grating voice. Barbara is a swimsuit supermodel for some reason (classic Fox $).

Unfortunately this show isn't made for fan boys. It is made for the general audience. Who don't know Poison Ivy or the Riddlers real names or have even heard of killer croc.
Alfred is Gothams Alfred.

If you really are this upset about the show, just don't watch it. Or give it a chance and watch it for what it is not what you want it to be. This show isn't cannon for the comics or the films. It is stand alone. The stories wont match up and are not meant to.

Because she's obviously going to end up dead during Cobblepot's climbing of the ladder and people would ***** more if they killed off a comics character before Bruce became Batman.

They said she's going to go through foster homes and her name will eventually be Pamela Isley.

They've said they already know how they'll do Mr. Freeze... The reason he isn't in Fish Mooney's place is because that wouldn't make any damn sense. First it's "the pilot's too crowded! Everyone's in it!" to "It's been 3 episodes! Where the **** is Mr. Freeze!?!?"

I haven't been completely sold on this series yet. But if Barbara keeps baring her lower half each week, then consider me subscribed. t: The actress is hawt. That will be my main reason for watching.

You do know that two different actresses played Barbara in Begins and Dark Knight, right?

Melinda McGraw in 2008 = 45 years old.
Erin Richards in 2014 = 28 years old.

Younger people tend to look younger, especially when they're playing younger versions of the same character.

Ben is much more young and handsome than Oldman as Gordon too. That's essentially how aging works.

This makes no sense, since when does realism involve looks? and since when was Barbabra Gordon supposed be some frump or Jim Gordon unable to score a hot women? I mean Ben McKenzie is a good looking guy and don't forget Jim and Barbara had a daughter who has always been depicted as a stunner, so she had good genes clearly.

Yes, Heller and Co. have made Barbara a token sexpot lesbian who lounges around the apartment all day, but it's early days. Also, don't accuse Richards of being a bad actress when all she has is bad material.

This is one of the most unusual complaints I've heard in a while.

I think she's okay I guess. Her character isn't anything to write home about the way its written now. Visually, she's clearly supposed to be an homage to Chase in Batman Forever and probably Vicki Vale in B89 so that part is pretty cool . Other than though, I really don't know anything about the character in the comics. I know far more about Sarah Essen and Barbara "Oracle" Gordon than Gordon's wife.

The concept of a relationship with Montoya is interesting but the actresses have zero chemistry together ,and it comes off more awkward then a real attraction. I feel more of a romantic connection between Root and Shaw on Person of Interest than Barbara and Renee on Gotham.

I wouldn't even say she's a bad actress. Yeah, she has some groaner lines every now and then (What girlfriend on a cop show doesn't?), but the scenes with her and Montoya are actually pretty well acted, IMO. You really do feel the past they have together.

She's taking up screen time that can be used for other villains. Simple really.

Her character was created for Mrs. Smith because of Fox playing politics.

It's a commonly shared opinion that she's the worst thing on this show. Just completely unnecessary and very poorly executed.
