The Official Green Lantern Marketing Thread

Just got this in my morning email here at work. I figured I would share. It is just a flyer for employees.

I just wanted you guys to know, I picked up the GreenLantern art book a bit early.
It is supposed to come out Tuesday, but I found mine today, so be on the lookout.

My wife is watching a Jersey Shore marathon on MTV and I've seen about 6 GL spots within a 3 hr period. They are kicking it into high gear.

you wouldnt think GL and Jersey Shore go together.
Still, whatever works.

I have even seen a few GL TV spots when I have been watching River Monsters Unhooked on Animal Planet the last two weeks while studying in the evenings. Like it!

When watching a T.V. show on On Demand, usually a couple commercials are spliced into it -> which is annoying.
However, when they are Green Lantern spots, I'm not complaining. :yay:

Yeah, for all the negativity people are raising about GL, WB is giving it a full marketing push. They want to get as many people as possible to see it.

I do think the lackluster first trailer hurt it. People expected something better. The next two trailers are so much better, but they can only do so much.

I humbly agree.
I loved the 'Wondercon' trailer.

One word...EPIC :woot:

Big deal. Get over it. The marketing and updated visual work and new footage that has been shown has wiped out any negative vibes the first little teaser trailer had IMO.

That first little teaser trailer with incomplete CGI and effects is old news.

F.irst impressions are important so I doubt the first trailer is completely gone. But the marketing has done a good job of promoting the movie's space opera vibe and tone that the mixed reaction to the first won't impact it much.

So, people still remember the first trailer ? That was aired many months ago.

I thought not many people saw it anyway, as compared to number of people who saw Trailer #2 and trailer #3.

Trailers #2 and #3 were good enough to make a good impression.

I was in Best Buy yesterday and there was a nice small promotion, that if you buy a blu-ray copy of Batman' 89, you could get something that would give you an eight dollar discount off of Green Lantern movie ticket. I was tempted. :hehe:

Is this a regular marketing practice ? or WB are really concerned about people's interest in this movie ?

Exactly! Plus the new awesome trailers have been showing with Thor, Pirates and now Hangover. Plenty of eyes have been seeing these new good trailers.

That first teaser trailer came out a looooong time ago.

When I was watching tv last night I saw a really cool Green Lantern Reese's Cup commercial. Can anybody find it and post it here?

Has anyone seen this one? :D

The Sage- That's awesome. :awesome:

I've been keeping up with Green Lantern's official Facebook page. Two days ago, it had 125,000 likes. As of today, it has over 165,000. I guess all this advertising is starting to pay off? :D

Yeah, the Subway near me had a sign for a contest to "win some green"...or something along those lines....kinda thought it had to do with the Green Lantern :)

Went to Subway earlier and saw the standee near the counter for the GL kids meal, and they had the gall to use the tagline "go green."
