The Official Green Lantern Thread III: Brighter! Greener! Shinier! Lantern...ier...! - Part 2

Hasn't Hal been gone from Earth too long now?? For a so called protector of sector 2314, he's never in it! Maybe that sector stuff is void, now that the old Guardians are gone.....

Really want to see him back in the Justice League, too.

For so-called angry comics fan, you got his sector wrong. :o

But seriously, Hal's the leader of the Corps now. He traded patrol of 2814 to Guy Gardner and the Red Lanterns as part of a deal under the condition that Simon Baz still be able to patrol Earth as well. Hal did appear as part of the League via hologram in Superman: Doomed though.

Surprised people are disliking the GL book now. I too read it last, but because Hal's my favorite character and saving the best for last and whatnot.

I like GL better now than I ever did. Especially the main book.

The only book I can see myself picking up is Sinestro. Love me some bdsm and implied homoeroticism in space :o.

^You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, they haven't been great. GL seems to be the last comic I read in my monthly pile.

I read maybe the first 3 ro 4 pages, groan and then skim til the end.

I'll get excited again when Sodam Yat shows up :o

I want SBP to show up in the new 52 god damn it. One of my favorite villains ever. After first reading Infinite Crisis and then Sinestro Corps War I just love that whiny little *****. Much more interesting of a character than he gets credit for. His stories after all that sound kinda dumb though with all the time travel and whatnot

Next crossover. This one sounds nuts.

Man alive, the Green Lantern Corps. just can’t seem to catch a break, huh? If it isn’t Brightest Day or Blackest Night, then it’s some other cosmic crisis threatening to destroy the universe as we know it. As we learned during Green Lantern: Lights Out, the universe’s ring-wielders broke through the Source Wall that surrounds the universe and stole secrets of immense cosmic power. One problem? Highfather, the leader of the New Gods, knows what they did and is trying to finds those secrets for himself by using one ring of every color of the emotional spectrum. Of course, nothing is ever that simple and what follows will threaten to alter the very fabric of the universe as we know it in “Godhead”, a monthlong crossover event that finds Green Lantern and the New Gods entangled in a struggle for intergalactic survival. Thanks to our friends at DC Comics, we have your exclusive first look at the solicitation info and covers for the first six issues of the arc.

Here’s the official solicitation information and covers.

^I'm gonna eat my words on this one. I'm finding this Godhead business quite interesting. I grow weary of Arkillo always getting maimed, but that's a minor complaint.

I've dropped GL from my pull after the futures end issue. Just trying to save some $. I will maybe grab this whole new crossover when it's out in trade though.

As with most events, I think it'll read better in trade form.

Yeah for sure, and like I said waiting for the trade and me wanting to save $ for now will help. Rather then buying every single tie in issue etc.

I've been enjoying this event. I do feel that the Gary Stu-ness of Kyle Rayner could get pretty obnoxious sometimes. Case in point this week's issue of New Guardians. At the same time though I do like that the New Gods of New Genesis are back to the power range that they're supposed to be in. Especially after Jim Starlin had ****ed those characters up something awful before the New 52 happened. It's greatly appreciated.

I've found everything about White Lantern Kyle to be obnoxious. I kinda want the New Gods to find a way to strip him of that ridiculous power/title and he can go back to being a regular GL.

What's going on with Kyle that makes him a Gary Stu? Just the fact that he's a White Lantern? He worked pretty hard to earn that s*** in New Guardians.

Something about him and his white light powers is essentially the "Life Equation". Opposite of that anti-life equation that Darkseid is always looking for so he can do bad things. So he went from being the solution to the Black Lanterns, and now he's en route to thwart Darkseid. He'll be curing ebola in a week.

:pal:

I'm also strongly opposed to him shacking up with Carol too. That's Hal's woman. Now and forever!
