Okay kids, question time!
How do you want Banner's transformation into the Hulk to look like?
We've seen it done several different ways, but how should the ultimate metamorphosis look?

according to the trailer i'm very pleased with it already...remembers me at the good old series with lou...

I’d like to see and heard the pain Banner is going through. It shouldn’t be quick but not to long either. I think the transformation in the bridge in TIH was good but let’s see it happen instead of seeing shadows. Banners scream slowly turning into the Hulk’s (Ok, who’s the M’er F’er who needs his head bashed in) booming howl! But hey, that's me. How's it hanging Teach :yay:

may ask another question? how comes his pants grow with him?
sure i'm not an idiot and i know this is a fictional character and everything could be possible.....
i just noticed based on his new design that his upperlegs arent that thick so that the pants may not burst, (but i guess its still uncomfortable to walk in those:-) maybe that causes his rage he he .....)
but he is still damn bigger in size than a normal jeans could handle...

in this movie banner is not even wearing jeans ...

as an example:
the scene after norton woke up with a tent in his hands that supposed to be his jeans was a bit well, like in the comics but a bit too much...
dont get me wrong i dont want to it to be as realistic as possible i just wonder if they are aware of that and how its going to look like on screen

I think transformations are very hard to pull off without looking fake, TIH showed the whole transformation in Sterns' lab and although it looked alright it did echo fakeness, I'm happy with seeing the clothes tearing and keeping it mostly shadowed.

The issue with the transformations in both live action movies is that when we see him changing the CG gets too quick and jerky. It's not a smooth transition.

To be honestI think something like the first transformation in the Wolfman remake would suit me just fine, at least for one transformation

I hope Ruffalo delivers as well. Can't gauge it at this point. But seeing the trailer where he says, "And what if I said..............No." makes me smile.

To me Norton seemed to be playing himself acting like a proff. If that makes any sense.

Yeah I loved that. I also like how he reacted when Tony was pestering him and shocked him...that was very Bixbyish.

I understand the Norton complaint as many have stated it. To me he was trying to play Bixby's Banner, I just wish that he tried to do more. Bixby actually made Banner fascinating to watch and empathize with.

Ooo Ooo I know!!!

Show those scary eyes thing you got!!!

And seriously...if I don't hear at least one kid say... "Mommy he's scaring me!" It's NOT good enough. I want to feel like I did when we first saw Bixby transform into Hulk at the time...limited effects and all...he made you believe something was coming out of him.

Exactly!

For once, at least for the initial transformation, I want it to be scary. Part of that could come from simply using some prosthetics and makeup instead of just cg.

Once again, while I generally detested the depiction of the Hulk himself, some of the transformations on the TV show were genuinely creepy. In particular the very first one, with Bixby snarling in just contacts, the fake nose & forehead, still trying to wrestle with that tire. Or the Married episode where he springs out of the chair under hypnosis. I feel the big screen Hulk needs more of a terrifying presence, and it starts with Banner's transformation creeping you out.

Couldn't agree more. I liked Norton better than Bana but don't miss him a bit. Actually watching TIH recently made me realize that Norton was just playing Norton. Not convincing at all.

We share the same opinion about this.

Whereabouts has this been seen? I remember hearing about it somewhere, but I'm wondering if it's been shown in anything that's been officially released?

I do believe its a reference to one of the trailers, international. Was a funny a scene, Tony all nonchalantly pokes him the side. Think Tony's going to spend a lot of his time trying to get Banner to Hulk out. Can't wait to see what all he comes up with. :oldrazz:

Banner almost looked like he was trying not to smile in that scene haha

I liked that little nuance in Ruffalo's performance in that snippet. I like that this Banner does have a sense of humor and knows that what Tony is doing is all in good fun.

Id love to hear that high pitched music from the old tv show,
followed by a slow camera turn around banner showing the green veins appear crawling up his body. (loved that from TIH). Then the cuts like we saw of his body tearing through his clothes, while he screams in pain. IMO the more horrific and painful the transformation looks, the better to feel that he hates that part. Then maybe banner is begging for IT to stop, almost like asking hulk to stop trying to come through. Then the whole
mood changes as hULk emerges psychologically as well as physically. Then we get the money shot of hulk saying something.

I think the German trailer. The link is in the Official Trailer Thread. What's funny is its in that language but you get the gist of what's going on even if you can't understand it.

This. The past two movies transformation were un-eventful. Funny how a low budget tv show can portray the transformations more meaning full, than i multi- milllion budget movie can.

I want it to un-comfortable. I also want to hear Banner say "...the pain!"

I thought the first transformation in Ang's Hulk was great. Where it showed it was rage, anger, as an actual psychological thing, making him transform. Having what amounts to a childs temper tantrum... x10000000. And i loved the way he completely smashed the **** out of the lab and all the research, equipment etc, which Banner obviously cares for, but Hulk doesn't. Again showing that Hulk is a separate persona to Banner.

None of this elevated heart beat crap, which i hope they completely drop for Avengers.

Hulk's tag line is "You wouldn't like me when i'm angry". Not "You wouldn't like me when my heart beat gets too fast".

The heart beat bit didn't bother me. In fact, I thought it was a good way to signal that something was going to happen and introduced tension to the scene. They had to do something to differentiate from the 2003 film - Ang Lee's Banner may not have had a pulse monitor or whatever it is he uses, but it would have been to similar if Norton's Banner had started changing in exactly the same type of way that Bana's did.

Maybe so, but i just don't like the idea of the transformation happening because of a physical thing, in this case elevated heart beat. I think it's better as a purely psychological thing, an actual emotional response, in the case of Hulk, obviously anger.

The thing i really loved about the first transformation and rampage is that Hulk actually pauses at one point, and looks at the Gamma machine thing. He makes an actual conscious decision to destroy it. That gives us an insight into Hulk, as his own character, without the need of dialogue. It shows that he isn't just a mindless brute and that he perhaps resents his "puny human" alter ego.

I don't think the heart-beat was ever portrayed as the sole reason for his transformation - it was just a signal, a flag that whatever combination of processes caused him to change were kicking in. He didn't change when running for example.

That's because his heart beat didn't hit the breaking point. Also when he was getting hot and heavy with Betty he had to stop, which says to me he would have transformed if they carried on.

Yeah I like that as well. He smiles like. "ok, ok, it's all funny till someone Hulksout."

Also like that he's aware that's he and the Hulk are a "Time Bomb." :bh:

New pic of Bruce by way of Slasfhilm.

He looks exactly like one of the geek engineers we have here at work... :p

I'm not a huge fan of him wearing purple shirts though---kinda hitting it on the head a bit.

LMAO!!!

It's ALWAYS...just fun and games until someone Hulks out...then it gets Real!!! :BA

Yeah, I hope we finally get to hear Hulk tell us why he hates Banner...because he's puny of course. I know Ang's Hulk subtly did it...but not enough of it and I don't think the GA got it.
