Well, I don't do well with the whole "mind-clearing" thing and the time for meditation at the end isn't as relaxing for me as it should be because I don't know how to not think about something lol. But I love all of the stretches and balancing. I feel like it really pushes my body in areas that other exercises don't.

Nice. I've been getting super comfortable with my half guard lately. I'm actually getting more confidant in getting people in my half guard than full guard. I've gotten a lot of people with the electric chair submission.

I've been dieting and working out 3-5 times a week for almost one year and I lost 30 lbs and my body is now VERY toned. I never told anyone that and I just wanted to post it. I'm proud!

Those are the ones i use. 24kg = around 53lbs.

Yoga is very good, people think it's this wimpy stretching, buddah session, but it's actually quite taxing until you get used to it.

That new Gold's Gym finally opened on Friday and I went yesterday. It was really nice and everything was obviously new. But the machines dominated. They had a over 100 pieces of cardio machines, probably 2 plate loaded machines for each body part and just a small section of free weights. No power racks, just 2 Smith machines.

But they did have a few interesting pieces, including 2 climbing ropes.

Also interesting was a "cardio theater" which was a row of treadmills, ellipticals and bikes in front of a HUGE movie screen, which happened to be playing Terminator Salvation.

This place will easily be worth $10 a month.

In other news...I am now a gym ****e. I have memeberships at 4 gyms now, plus all my great stuff at home.

    1) Gym at work (free)
    2) Gold's Gym ($10 month)
    3) Jeet Kune Do/Close Quarters Defense Tactics gym ($85 month)
    4) Brazilian Jiu-jitsu gym ($50 an hour -these are private lessons, not group sessions)
    5) All of my own stuff at home (free)

I'm really torn between wanting to go roll today or take a complete relax day. I really wanna do both.

The cardio theater idea is clever. There's a franchise around here called Retro Fitness that plays old 80s movies in front of their cardio equipment. Anything to break the monotony

That sounds so much better than watching The Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and that she-beast Hoda Somethingsomething.

Word. We have one treadmill and elliptical in our gym, which are pretty much just used whenever we have to cut weight for tournaments/fights. When I had to cut 9lbs in a day, I got on the elliptical and was bored out of my mind in about 3 minutes and THEN remembered that we have a big tv on the wall BEHIND the elliptical. I was so pissed I didn't think to just turn the thing around and put a movie in lol. (Once you start, you kinda have to just keep going. It's way easier to keep the sweat going than to stop and work up a sweat again.) I was on the elliptical for an hour and a half, staring at nothing. It sucked so bad, I was begging my coach to let me off.

It was by far the most physically torturous day of my life. But it was like one of my friends (who's been fighting for years) said, we gotta use the sacrifices like that to drive us. Whenever I have to cut a lot of weight like that, I put all the blame on the guy(s) I'm fighting and take it all out on them.

Could a mod remove the "2.0" from the thread title if possible? :)
