    I may steal your ankle weights idea. Been looking for ways to burn calories more easily throughout the day. I have a lengthy commute, so exercise after work is normally not in my motivation level. I have a desk job, but I do go for some walks during the day for a few minutes now and then.

    Hey LS, I’m really sorry to hear your drinking is still giving you problems. Please try to get the help you need to get it under control.
    Any gains you might make will be completely offset by the health problems you will develop if you continue to drink to excess.
    Take it from someone who spent almost two years drinking way more than I should have done.

    Sorry to hear mate. Unfortunately long term you’ll be doing more harm than good and it’s far more important to fight against the booze than commit to long runs. My friend is in the same situation, drinking dangerous amounts while also running for 4 hours at a time, but he’s also been to hospital many times in the last couple of years. Modern athletes and fitness pros keep a very careful eye on alcohol intake and there’s no way of making up for drinking way too much. The net effect will be worse health for sure, as well as feeling and looking worse long term. Best of luck beating it mate. :up:

    Trying to eat out only like 2 times a week now, also. Yesterday I had 2 salads with Tuna for lunch/dinner. Doing the same today. Snacking less on candy and such. Been eating bananas mainly as snack.

    just ordered some resistance bands on Amazon with some credit i had smh
    since i'm investing money into fitness, hopefully i can push this into investing into myself better

    About 90 mins each way. Mostly due to traffic. So normally I don't get home until 5:30 or 6 and I wake up at 5:20 am on weekdays.

    Long time to spend inside a car every day. I have a similar time commute, but that is walking time rather than driving!

    Before I went on this 2 month drinking binge I was benching 250 with ease. Now can barely get up 160. My first day back today, but am promising to come back bigger stronger.

    have you considered getting help for your drinking TLS? or tried to figure out what is triggering the binges?

    Had to get a second full time job. So once I leave my first6 I'll have a hour and a half and will get a 40 min workout in before my second starts. Now mon thru thursday I'll have to work both and only get 4 hrs sleep. Fri sat sun I'll still have the second but only 8 hr work days and will work out fully for an hour i .Know how tough this will be but hopefully i can still progress. Thoughts?

    Only getting 4 hours of sleep sounds like a really bad idea to me. I have been basically getting like 5-6 hours of sleep more closer to 5 for years now because of how stressed out I am fell stuck at a job I cant stand and it is really getting to me big time. I am tried like 24/7 and it makes me fell sick to my stomick a lot of times with such little sleep and its effecting my memory big big time.

    I appreciate the comment. Weekends I am able to sleep in. 4 days out the week though I'm going to only get 4 hrs though. Don't have much choice. I need the money.

    you may want to limit the amount of time working out until you get used to the schedule though. your body heals when you sleep and since you won't be sleeping, it will take its toll on you

    I gave up the gym last year after I stopped going consistently. I thought of it as a waste of money at that point. After losing muscle but gaining 10lbs (6'0, 230) I decided to get back to it. Got my girlfriend and myself a membership and worked out yesterday and today. Did bent over rows Thursday and squats today. My goals are a stronger back and bigger arms. I'm gonna come up with some specific numbers to reach on each lift.

    I’ve stepped up the walking to 20k steps a day minimum for 2019. Walking to and from work plus the basic steps at work and home gets me to about 27k so it’s not much of a challenge outside weekends. And so far I’ve had a couple of monster days. One 65k (and that was by 4pm, although I did hardly any after that) and today which should finish above 60k (still walking home as we speak from the cinema in central London). Hopefully I can get a 30k average for the year but I don’t know if that’s realistic yet as some weekends I might have a load of boring work or house stuff to do. The best thing about it is I enjoy every second. I’ve been on the Hype the whole time while watching live sport (whole matches), whole film trilogies in a day, zipping through TV shows, reading digital comics, listening to music, playing phone games (linked to Xbox), doing actual work work, keeping in touch with everyone much more than usual (phone calls, WhatsApp, Facebook, texting), seeing every London sight, staying on top of emails and organising my phone notes (life in other words).

    Because I enjoy it I can’t see any reason for it to stop. I was consistent last year but the amount has gradually increased from a modest start.

    great job Iceman. I ended up right under 23k for the day (Monday) and I thought that was good. you're blowing me out of the water :eek:
