Comics The OFFICIAL: ICEMAN Discussion Thread

Oh yeah. These are 2 thing I wanna ask (1 to say).

1) Profezzor X, would you mind telling me how Iceman could destroy the entire world? I never knew how he could so I got curious.

2) And it was in this new magazine ALL about the official X3 game and if had a profile for each of them (Wolverine, Iceman, and and Nightcrawler). It said that Iceman could do something with his Icepowrs that would prevent Rogues power from harming him while their kissing. I'll recheck it when I go backto blockbuster.(lol)

My guess is that he'd do the opposite of a supernova, and emminate a shockwave of cold across the entire planet, or part of it. Remember, 2/3rds of the planet is covered by water. And Iceman has been known to be able to freeze sea water... That part is clear (see Zero Tolerance arc). I would also assume that even if he couldn't do the entire planet in one cold blast, he could do it in large parts and move on to the next area.

As for him being able to Kiss Rogue without being drained, I've never heard of that one before. I know Joseph (Magneto clone) was able to do it at one time, or was that Mags himself?... I can't remember.

Yeah, but it was in this official magazine book about the video game and it was listing his powers and stuff.

As much as I admire the idea of him having this new and special power, I find it hard to believe and utterly useless. It's like: "Okay, out of all the extrordinary powers to have on top of my ice powers, I have this specific power can nullify my girlfriend's leeching ability". How lame is that!!!.... And what are the odds of him finding a mutant like Rogue that this power can work on....

As Syndrome, from The Incredibles said: "Lame... Lame... Lame!!!!"

It's true.... What are the odds of him finding a mutant like Rogue and being able to cancel out her powers.... And just for a kiss?.... Uh no. No one (including her) is worth that.

Maybe they make him immune to her power when he is iced up. I know thats not true but they could have manipulated it that way

Wasn't she able to Kiss Colossus freely when he was metalled up at some point in the comics?

It could be conceiveable if he wore a thick enough layer of ice on his lips.

She was able to but then they said she couldn't. It never made sense because he is organic steel. Iceman should be able to if he doesn't ice up but he just coats himself with ice.

I think it was pathetic that some fans complained to Marvel about Iceman not being able to change back to flesh when he was made of solid ice. I was okay with the ice concept, but for him to be permanent ice was a little stupid. Maybe if he was stuck in a non-flesh form, like water vapour, cold mist, water, sleat, snow, or ice, I'd be alright. At least there would be variations of him.... What do you guys think?

I love the idea of his "secondary mutaion". I mean, sure fans would get bored just seeing him iced up all the time, but it's no problem to me.

Having him in different forms only makes for good strategic moves on the battlefield. If the team needed him to get into tight spaces to survey the area, he could easily do it in mist form. But did Milligan or Austen think of that....... No. That's why people like me are complaining in forums like this.

I know. Plus he'd be practically invulnerable.

Or he could do a "BIG FREEZE" in which the universe (since he's Omega) becomes too cold to substain life. It is one of the "Fates of the Universe".

And another thing (really for Profezzor X). I forgot what issue this is (although I own it) but I just skimmed through it to let ya know about it...plus I don't get it:

But Psylockes outsmarted herself. For awhile her psi knife does indeed disrupt the structure of Iceman's brain (this proves that he has a brain while in ice form)...it also triggers an uncontrollable broadband outburst of energy from him that leaves everthing in close proximity sheeted in ice--including her.

That was in X-Men Forever... book #5.

I was on vacation with the family for a couple of weeks, and didn't have access to a computer or comics... But I'm back to raise some "Iceman" havok now.

I took a brief look at #188 and it sucked. What was Iceman talking about to Bling about his busted arm, and it feeling like piranas bitting it? I didn't get a chance to find out what that was all about.

No access to they hype or computer?! You musta been misrable. When I get back to school in August I'm gonna have to take some time from here because I'll have to be doing TONS of work. Thats why I'm always on here..i'm trying to make the best before I leave.

P.S. Whats (in the comics) is cosmos?

I needed a vacation from work and life in general. And going to a remote island in the Philippines is a perfect way to do it. Although, I did buy the first couple of issues to the Civil War story arc and X-Men: Children of the Atom graphic novel, for airplane reading. I was bored out of my mind a few times, so I read them quite a bit wuile I was there.

On an unlrelated note, I saw Superman Returns yesterday, and it sucked. Singer shouldn't have left X-Men to do that movie. But even so, I'm glad SR didn't break the X-Men record... yet. And I hope it doesn't. Singer's not worthy of any X-sequels anymore.

I knew it was gonna be stupid! I kept telling everyone it didn't look that good. But I didn't see it yet so i'll probably see it this week or the next.

I'm going to e perfoing arts high school for theater performance. I'll have to work hard and this is something that I REALLY wanna do so i'm gonna devote myself to it. You'll probably rarely see me once august comes because i'll have to go to the downtown library for studies and everything.

I pupposely stayed away from the press and spoiler forums, so I could get a fresh perspective on the movie when I saw it. And sadly, I was gravely disapointed. The actors sucked at their performances, and the story was pretty crappy. Kevin Spacy did a great Lex Luthor, and I think Christopher Reeves did a far better job as Superman.

But getting back to Iceman, I wonder which side he'll take in the Civil War story arc. Considering he doesn't wear a mask, I think he might go the way of Iron Man, and be for the Superhero Registration Act. How do you guys think the Civil War will divide the X-Men?.. And who's side do you think they'll be on?
