Alright, the Iron Man franchise seems to be taking a short hiatus for a while, but as one of the MCU's most lucrative franchises it's highly doubtful they'll wait all that long. Anyway, we'll probably have to wait till after Avengers 3.
By then the character will probably be recast, so where should the franchise go next? Some possibilities are:

Armor Wars is a possibility, not only is it one of the character's most iconic storyline, but some elements have even been featured in Iron Man 2.

Another one of Iron Man's most iconic storylines, Shane Black wanted to use it in Iron Man 3, but Marvel didn't allow him, with another actor i think it's the perfect oportunity to start evolving the character and maturing him, the present trilogy hasn't made that much since the character barelly learns from his errors, besides that, the next actor can't just repeat what RDJ did, a more serious take on the character while still keeping the charm and witt from before sounds like the best step forward.
And finally, they could go with the imortal version of the Mandarin. The latest Marvel short seems to point out that there is another real Mandarin, probably an imortal warlord, so in the next film they could go with this version, maybe he could even revive Fin Fang Foom as some ancient creature.
So, thoughts? Ideas? What is the best story for Iron Man 4? How different should the next take be?
