The Official Joker Costume Thread - Part 1

I'm trying to figure out if it'd be cheaper to buy the costume as a whole(like everything together in one thing, and if so, a nice quality set)
OR piece it all together...I need everything together BEFORE Oct.14th...
Please guys hahaha. Links, websites, ideas..
All will be much help as I have basically nothing as of now T_T

My biggest thing is i'm always so nervous about picking websites to buy from..i've had problems in the past so i'm always on my toes...that's why i'd rather hear from someone who's actually used a source. Please please please give me anything ya got!! Hahaha

The way that I did it was I bought a base costume and over time I've been replacing parts and improving it. Really it comes down to how you want to do it. If you're looking for something fast and/or cheap then getting it all as one costume would be best until you have time to wait for delivery and funds for purchasing.

Now are we talking TDK Joker or a more traditional route? If it's more traditional then we have this full costume here:
http://www.milanoo.com/The-Joker-Cosplay-Costume-p14557.html
that doesn't look half bad. However if you're going TDK route you've got more options.

Full costumes:
Hellocosplay has several items and a full outfit that looks decent, the pants might be more blue than purple but that will usually be the case.

Cosplaysky is pretty much like HC but their costume is of noticeably different quality.

You can try eBay where they're usually sold as full costumes and cheaper but generally less screen accurate.

Just check around most cosplay store sites and you should find a costume there. Buying it piece by piece will most likely yield more accuracy and better results.

Utopiabase has mostly everything except the pants and they seem on the higher quality side.

Magnoli Clothiers is an odd choice in that you could get everything you need there or just pieces but it will cost you. A lot.

He's got the most accurate gloves and they're actually not that expensive. If you don't go for his gloves your only other option is usually these.

Turnbull & Asser was the official supplier of the Joker tie but they don't ship to the USA so you'll probably have to settle for something else. Bromleys who has the best suspenders however does ship to the states.

Shoes I already gave an amazon link above to a pair that work otherwise you can go magnoli or try finding another pair that you feel works. Generally something like a wingtip type of shoe will look best.

Hair you can use a wig but there aren't many quality ones or if you're hair is long enough you can dye/spray it.

War paint you can use any kind of make up you want like rubies or mehron, I personally prefer mehron since it's a better quality of grease paint.

You can get any sort of chain for the kind he wears and it should do the trick if you're not looking for accuracy.

That's about all I got, any questions and I'm sure the other members and I would be happy to help. Also check out the old costume thread that this one is a continuation of. About 10 posts down on the first page is several links and also reading through the thread couldn't hurt if you've got the time. http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=327886

for a high quality costume real fast i suggest kwally for the shirt fabric, you can have the shirt made locally for around 10-20 dollars, for the coat and blazer i suggest http://cosplaysky.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=joker&x=0&y=0, for the gloves just buy purple leather gloves on e-bay, pants either magnoli or get grey pinstripe pants and dye them, shoes there is a great pair here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fly-London-...Q,B003XIWGZI,B002NEG83E,B001P395CU,B001PMR0UK
you dont really need suspenders but if you do get them magnoli is the best
magnoli also has a good tie for the price but the real deal IS a option just call the turnbull and asser store in NY and they will ship it to you as for the vest i would go with magnoli or have one made http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=joker

Has anyone had any success taking a Rubies wig and modifing it? Is there a source for a better one?

Someone that's going to SDCC...Take pictures of the display costume, and the Bank Heist mask. I saw in a tiny picture that they are there....So....You know. Steal 'em.

A person I know who went uploaded this picture a few hours ago:

He also nabbed one of the Two-Face suit with the Joker suit in the back.

I've been looking around for ones that look similar enough to the one he had, I've also been looking into making an RPG prop.

Hmm..the peeler is worth looking into. I got my hex shirt today and is far less blue than I thought and looks great! I chose cosplaysky.com and it really looks great.

Potato peeler is a cool prop. Some say it has green twine around while others say orange. Hard to say really.
Thanks for posting the touring suit pics. I had really hoped we'd not only get some high quality pics of the suit, but also of the joker bank mask so someone can do a really accurate one. Hopefully more will surface........

as far as weapons has anyone used the potato(e) peeler?

Oh, I would add that to the weapon mix of Joker's stuff; I've always wanted to go to the San Diego comic con, and still have my old ideas on how to dress up as my Heath Ledger/Lee Bermejo looking Joker. I would completely load up the costume with Airsoft guns, toy knives, the whole SHABANG! :woot:

Question: are you allowed to spray paint airsoft and bring them into to Comic Con, or do they need the a little orange ring at the end of the barrel to know that it's fake?

Yep, thats the peeler I have. I did see someone do some sort of picture analysis and showed the twine to be orange. Ah well. Its always a case of what we see, and what it is. Looks green to me.

Got plenty of pics of the costume at SDCC, I'll post some on Thursday because I only have my phone.

Thanks for the heads up on the tie..I almost picked one up. Are their socks good?

In all honesty, I didn't even realise there was a Joker present in this picture until a second.. maybe third glance at it.. :O
