The Lady Liberators, also called the Liberators, are a fictional superhero team that appeared in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Their only appearance was in Avengers (Vol.1) #83, written by Roy Thomas. Cover of Avengers #83 by John Buscema & Tom Palmer. The group may have been a commentary on what was then known as "women's lib".

They were a group of female Avengers mind-controlled by the Enchantress. They consisted of: the Wasp, Black Widow, the Scarlet Witch, Madame Medusa, and were led by Valkyrie (actually a disguised Enchantress).

A new team of Lady Liberators debuted in a 2008 issue of Hulk. The team includes Invisible Woman, Storm, She-Hulk, Valkyrie, Thundra, Tigra, Black Widow, and Hellcat.

This is the group featured in Hulk right now right?

Yes. Also in She-Hulk and her one shot Cosmic Collision.

Here's the Cosmic Squad of the Liberators.

When did Sue get so pumped is what I want to know?

I also still get messed up seeing BOTH Tigra and Hellcat together.

Yes. Also in She-Hulk and her one shot Cosmic Collision.

They weren't technically members, though. As far as I've seen, the Lady Liberators are She-Hulk, the Invisible Woman, Thundra, and Valkyrie, plus whomever else decides to tag along in a given issue.

Val learned how to form a team when she was in the Defenders. The Liberators take their example from them and are a Non-Team.

I always loved that term. :D

Here's a shot of Val from the Cosmic Collision one shot. I really like it and I don't know why.

I didn't get Val's part of the Cosmic Collision story. She still goes around plucking random people up from the battlefield to take them to... where? Valhalla's gone and nobody worships the Norse gods anymore.

It's been suggested in the pages of the Defenders and New Mutants that the Valkyries powers might encompass more than just the Asgardian sphere. She provides warriors with the peace of death.

As for Valhalla... I don't know. I'm not up on my Thor.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

I suppose Valhalla could be somewhere in the newly reconstructed Asgard, but I gotta say, going to Oklahoma after dying valiantly in battle just doesn't have the same sort of appeal to it.

"Brave warrior, you have nobly given your life in the heat of battle. Your soul is worthy to join me on a journey to the mystic halls of Valhalla, in the great city of Asgard, on an undeveloped farm in Oklahoma."

"I sorry, did you say Oklahoma?"

"Yes. In the great city of Asgard, in the halls of V--"

"You know, that's okay. Yeah, I think I'm gonna give this 'unrested ghost' thing a try. Wander the Earth for a few centuries, watching everyone I love die and move on to the afterlife without me, until some sorcerer or priest violently exorcises me into oblivion. Good luck with the farm, though."

I hope they kill Rulk and he is never brought back. EVER.

He needs to hit up that liquid-cooling system, son. Fans can't hack it.

The Liberators are gonna beat Rulk, but he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
