The Official Lanterns News & Discussion Thread

I have zero doubt in my mind that they'll be in their costumes at some point in the series. I could see it being a finale type moment.
I'm ok with the earth-based angle but I seriously dislike that idea.

No one should ever be allowed to say grounded again.

Gunn probably should have said a Green Lanterns on earth story but “grounded” means the same thing. Not only on earth but Middle America.

Using the term "grounded" simply conveys to the audience that a particular story is more serious in tone than one that is more overtly cartoonish, such as TSS. I certainly don't take its usage here to mean that Lanterns is somehow devoid of extraterrestrial or cosmic elements. I just don't anticipate too much silliness from the show.

This is loosely related, but Netflix is pulling Friday Night Lights from their service at the end of the month. As others have said before, It's a really good show that showcases just how perfect Kyle Chandler is for the role of Hal Jordan. If you want to check it out, you've still got a little time left—exactly 25 days—to do so. Happy binging!

Not sure how I never got around watching this series until about 2 or 3 months ago. I started watching because of Chandler, but stayed because I actually got invested in all the characters, including Kyle Chandler's.

In clearest eyes, in fullest hearts... CAN'T LOSE! Haha.

I avoided that show for the longest time because I just hate football, but finally got around to it some time after Chandler won the Emmy, and yeah, what a great show. S2 mess aside (I know there were a lot of BTS factors there), it’s an all-timer imo, and has become one of my comfort shows.

I really like the show (mainly the phenomenal first season), but it's clear they had no plan for the story. The later seasons just devolve into soap opera nonsense, and every character keeps flip-flopping from one extreme to another (Julie in particular).

Feels like something we probably won’t know until a lot further down the line, but I wonder who ends up scoring this.

Lindelof has had pretty great luck in that department thus far. Giacchino, Max Richter, Reznor and Ross…

Also the inspiration for our beloved but now too soon dearly departed Superman and Lois. I’ve only seen the movie but I loved that film and yeah I’ve heard nothing but great things about the series.

Was it really? I had no idea.
