Someone on the Green Lantern casting thread suggested Mads Mikkelsen from "Casino Royale" as the cold hearted former Green Lantern. And I think that's quite an interesting choice. As is Hugo Weaving and Daniel Day-Lewis.

i would go with hugo weaving like many have said in the gl casting threads. But if what we know from the first draft script sinestro is likely only going to be seen in the first film as a good guy/mentor to hal with evil intints and we dont see him fully evil to a sequel.

Yeah I already read the script and I'm sure as hell glad they arent rushing the Sinestro as the nemesis. The only thing that really worries me is if GL bombs, we wont be able to see full on evil Sinestro. But, I have high hopes for this movie.

I had never thought of Mads Mikkelsen but I like the idea pretty much, yeah why not. Personnally I do not have any specific choice in my mind but I just want the actor to have dedication for the character, because Sinestro is HUGE , and I think it is important to understand the importance of him. So, as long as this "importance of the character" is respected and as long as the actor is dedicated to his role .. I would be fine with anyone.

Mads was BORN for Sinestro! Look at that picture of Mads and then Sinestro and tell me that they arent identical! Despite having the striking visual similarities, Mads can also carry the movie with his adequate acting chops.

Geoff Johns wrote the definitive Sinestro. I hope the movie version follows it. I've read the first draft and they share some similarites. With Marc Guggeheim's statement that they turned in the third draft and made things darker, i'm hoping they include more of John's characterization, and some concepts of the Secret Origins storyline.

IN a perfect world. it would be Daniel Day-Lewis. His name gets thrown around a lot but there is no one I'd rather see him as more than Sinestro.

Hugo Weaving and Jason Isaac just dont sit with me. I feel like there are better more inspired options out there. Mads Mikkelsen is an interesting choice.

Daniel Day-Lewis is my dream choice for Sinestro. Sadly, I think it's exactly that: a DREAM choice.

More realistically, I like the idea of Mads Mikkelson. But what about Damian Lewis, from TV show Life? Javier Bardem could be a more left-field candidate. I don't think they should go for someone overly obvious like Hugo Weaving.

Perhaps a little too old for Sinestro. But if they can find something for him to do in Green Lantern, or some other superhero movie, I'm all for it. The Combs is awesome.

Herbert West is a brilliant character. Milton Dammers even better.

Sinestro isn't a 20 something. Hell he always looks over 40. Who cares how old the actor is? He's going to be wearing thick red makeup anyway.

Wait a tick, I can't tell if Sinestro's skin is purple or red.
And would you guys change his color in the movie to a different hue? It would look rather odd on film me thinks.

Nope. Sinestro is purple. Thats all their is to it. And it should look odd, he's an alien.

Sure, but the question was "should they change the colour in the movie?" No. Because, for whatever reason he's coloured purple... Thats the way he should be in the movie.

I thought you'd use that but that cover is the only example of your argument, whereas a quick google search yields many of mine. Besides Sinestro's complexion always seemed more like a lighting effect to me on that cover.
Im not disputing Korugarians are red. They are. We know this. But for some reason they're coloured a nice rich purple. And that's the way Sinestro (and all Korugarians) should be coloured in the movie. The way we know him.

I personally think he's purple. Always have. But someone a few posts above said that he was red, so IDK. Anyway, I say that we keep the color a mor reddish looking purple.

it would suck if they decided to copout on the character and just make him look like a humaniod white skin man instead of the red/purple look the character has been seen in other mediums.
