I pre-ordered Mass Effect today and just decided to pay for it all in once. Kinda bummed no one in town had the Collector's Edition of it, but I just want the damn game.

So apparently the EGM reviewers gave the game two 9.0s and a 9.5. They had good things to say about the combat system (supposedly quite intense) and the storyline (one of the best ever in a videogame) but also said that the class system is unbalanced.

I always just do the class with the most brute force anyway. I call it the "high class".

I'm sort of catching up on the Mass Effect info since I've been preoccupied with "Halo 3", "Guitar Hero III", "Assassin's Creed", "Call of Duty 4", etc.

Can anyone tell me if this is a turn-based RPG?

They shouldn't have hyped it up... unless of course it's longer in the game, but still... yeah... or maybe they coudl slo-mo it for the game... yeah... but on some smooth jazz and it'll be like, y'know, a little interlude of some sort...
