got myself an early copy, and folks, I gotta say, apart from some texture loading and frame rate issues, this definitely gets Game of the Year for me (with Bioshock in second).

You could have ordered it from Toys R Us online and have it delivered next day. Too bad I had just found that out yesterday, I'm just going to wait until its in stores now. But some people have done it and had it for a week or so now. Also some K-Marts were selling it as well.

K-Marts, Wal Marts, Toys R Us & I heard some Targets as well broke the release date in various States. Only Toys R Us & Wal Mart had it Online for a little bit.

Toys R Us still had it online as of I think Friday was when I checked. Its not listed as a pre order item, but as in stock and ready to ship.

How long did it take you to beat the game?

I'd have to check to be sure, but I think my first playthrough took me a little 20 hours. I'm on my second, doing way more sidequests, and with 9 hours played I'm not even near where I was on my first.

I keep finding new stuff and doing different things, it's amazing.

I'd give it a 9.7 or 9.8. it does have some technical issues, but everything else is so f***in good that it barely registers in the big picture.

as for complaints about AI, I honestly didn't find it bad at all. time and again I got my ass saved by my squad (specially on lower levels, and really, it's supposed to be an ACTION RPG.

by its very nature, it's not supposed to be micromanageable. otherwise you'd be pausing and giving orders more than you'd actually shoot, cause there are some pretty big firefights. IMO, that works in favor of the action.

So whats the premise of the game? Hows it play? Generally im not a fan of RPG's but i loved Oblivion and thought Knights of the Old Republic was one of the finest games i ever played(altho the combat was garbage).

you'll probably like this then. the level of customization and strategy is deep, but not too deep that it will scare away the more casual players. it may take a while for you to get the hang of the whole thing, but it's pretty satisfying when you do.

as for the actual combat, I loved it. you can't micromanage every little thing your squad does like you can in KOTOR, but in my opinion the game's better for it.

this game can definitely appeal to non-RPG-fans.

well, you choose the backstory in character creation, but the basic gist of the whole thing is: you begin on a mission in Eden Prime, a planet colonized by humans (who are kind of the new guys in the galatic community).

There, you discover that a spectre (sort of like the galatic council's Black Ops agents, they're allowed to do anything and go anywhere to get the job done, at their discretion) named Saren has gone rogue and is working with the geth, a race of synthetic beings.

After you prove to the council that Saren is working with the geth (this part doesn't have a lot of action, just so you know), he'll be stripped of his spectre status and you'll be named the first human spectre ever. you first mission is to go after Saren.

seriously, I've already said enough. the story goes WAAAAAAAY deeper than that, and it's so good (and with some intense and already classic moments) that I can't bring myself to reveal more. you HAVE to find out by playing.

The Spectres are sort of like the Jedis in this game. They handle important stuff & send their dudes to do it etc
