You guys need to do some historical research. Gamespot is as close to right-on-the-money as you can get.

Looking at GameRankings...not recently. Looking a games recently, they always seem to be off the average ranking.

I used to love GameSpot...but I lost interest in their views a few years ago. Im a GameTrailers.com man.....or if needed, GameRankings man when judging a game before playing.

But all in all, if I love a game, I love a game. For the most part, if a games an 8 out of 10, I'll enjoy it no matter what.

Can't Bioware make a game that doesn't have framerate drops out the ass? :(

Amazing game anyways.

I'm gonna **** that chick before I go to bed :cmad:

So I've been promoted to being a Spectre for the Council. But something about those pompous bastards tells me that it's going to end up like UNATCO in Deus Ex...:batman:

Infiltrator.

I'm not sure what I hate more, the constant jerking of the framerate actually stopping, or the "now loading" CD, or the ****ing Elevators. :cmad:

Oddly enough, I found myself not enjoying Mass Effect last night. It really made me want to play Assassin's Creed or put in Fable:TLC again. It just seemed there was a heavy lack of customization in the game, despite it being a RPG. The dialogue reminded me of Final Fantasy, with 8-minute long conversations with really nothing to say, and the combat didn't really impress me. It felt like a weak version of a FPS. Controlling your squadmates was shallower than GRAW to me, etc.

It probably doesn't help that they explain ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to you. You eventually just have to try to figure everything out on your own without a tutorial in sight. Overall, the whole experience was a giant disappointment for me.

I'm not liking what I'm reading.
In any case, I won't be buying this immediatly, since it's a single player thing and that can always wait.
I guess I should just get CoD4 for now.
AND THE ORANGE BOX :cmad:

Don't be swayed by my opinion, it's your choice.

I just found the game to be, thus far, a giant disappointment in contrast with what I was expecting. Which was a sort of Sci-fi Oblivion with cool squad mechanics. I find myself agreeing with GameSpot's 8.5, now. Assassin's Creed was definitely the better game here.

No, I mean, I will get it.
But right now, with no 360 and so many things to play (including AC which I do own), I can see myself waiting a bit to get this game.
I love Bioware and all, but I still have to play through so many things...
It's not like you guys will be playing this online, so what the hell? I'll just wait.
Maybe I'll find it cheaper in a couple of months.

There are a lot of games you should just go ahead and pass on so you can get caught up. MGS3 isn't exactly a land mark game or anything.

I don't want to hurt Electro or anything, but it was getting a bit stale the last time I played it.
RE4 is still fantastic, and I still have GoW1 and 2 to play through, and you know those are fantastic as well.

But MGS hmm....I might be outgrowing it (I guess that's the word).
I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but to me it's starting to feel stale and weird.

Let's just say that if I do end up getting a Ps3 eventually, MGS4 wouldn't be like on top of my "must get games" list, I don't know what happened exactly :(

Elevators....

I thought the point of them would be to load **** into the game, but instead you step out and get hit by a loading screen :cmad:

After I finish with my soldier guy, I'm gonna be something less gun-specific. And a woman. And evil. And have vaginal contact with the Asari chick :heart:

You became a man. This is a proud day for all of us in the Men's Club, we have received a budding new gentlemen with matured tastes.

Yay! :(
I'll still try to finish the game, I want to play that apparently awesome sniper boss battle, but then again....I can always play Sniper Elite when I get my 360

Let it be known that I had a hell of a time with MGS1 on the Ps1, but things change I guess.

The loading stuff and elevators don't really bother me that much. Really the only problems I've ever had with a game's loading time was Morrowind. Not just when you transport to a different city, those are nothing compared to when you load up a saved game. I go make a sandwich and come back and its still loading. Or I go take a **** to pass the time.

Holy F*** I love this game!
I started off with an Infiltrator.
I like how you can actually make an attractive character in the game, unlike Oblivion, where you think your person is gonna be sexy as hell, but turn out to be nothing like what you designed.
And the combat is so intense, it makes my heart pound every time.
And yeah...the elevators piss me off, but the whole damn thing is so frickin' gorgeous, I don't care.

I'd get sick of a game too if I spent the past 2 years trying to beat it.

Anyone else getting these damn "disc unreadable" messages every 30 minutes?

Your disc is obviously faulty if you're getting that. Either you scratched it or smugded it or its just a faulty disc. Bring it back, replace it.

My copy of the Limited Edition of Mass Effect was delivered today....AND I MISSED THE DELIVERY!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!! I ordered it online to get it early, it comes early, and now Im going to have to play it the same time everyone else gets it in the UK! I wanted to be special!!! Ah well, I'll pick it up tomorrow.
