Two different things.
Surprised to see the Skulls in there though, didnt expect that this early. Guess Big Boss will be getting a lot of flashbacks.
I am so going to get into the games! They sound really crazy!
The real crazy stuff starts with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
Sons of Liberty.
The concept art looks unbelievably cool.
Agreed, been playing MGSV for about 18 months now on and off, and seeing the skulls was a geek out moment for me.
I need some live action cyborg ninja action.
Would love a Quiet cameo, even better if they got Stefanie Joosten to play her.
From a technology standpoint they have the means to recreate pretty much most stuff from the series, but the cost is the issue. And whether they'd shoot on just green screen or location.
So does Zack Snyder
When done right. And no Last Jedi half measures, I mean actually go for it and upend the status quo.
On a side note, I'm getting at the point where I couldn't give too ****s about what the fans think. People now worry too much about appeasing the fans. Ten years ago they didn't listen, now I can't stop hearing how everyone just wants to make the fans happy. The thing about many of these fans is that they don't know what they want, lack imagination, and have a limited perspective. What it's like to tap into their past experiences shouldn't be dictating the direction of a great director's vision which should be enough. You need a Chris Nolan who has a confident vision and not considering what a fan might think of a stupid tangible detail like the Joker not being perma-white.
Yeah TLJ went too far in the direction of subverting expectations for me. I can do without fan service, but I felt he didnt represent the old characters in the best way and the storylines he chose for the new characters felt uninspired.
With Metal Gear, there is no way they will fit such a convulted history and timeline all in one movie. So some liberties will need to be taken.
I love Metal Gear and I really want this movie to happen.
That's another conversation, but TLJ was mostly lip service when it came to pushing things forward. It moved an inch or two but it moved within the Disney box of making things similar to the OT. Disney isn't interested in pushing things any further. I think people are becoming so complacent with these safe movies that when something like TLJ comes along and moves an inch they lose their goddamn minds.
These decisions are very studio superficial like. It just so happens their decisions have mostly been executed very well. Star Wars will not survive like this and they're already facing trouble because of it. These movies haven't pushed anything. That's why I hope Metal Gear can really give us something we haven't seen before because for some reason, geek pop culture can't stop talking about these corporate Stat Wars movies that in the years to come won't age well.
I do think SW can move forward, but the way Johnson chose to do it in TLJ was just the wrong way to go about it for me.
With Sony making MGS, and video game movies not being the most successful at the best of times, I see us getting a movie thats more safe than out there. Personally, I love how weird and crazy MGS is.
The movie needs this theme.
Metal Gear Solid Cyborg Ninja Statue by Gecco Co.
I was going to whine about you bumping this thread without news but then I changed my mind instantly. I need it.
Sony + Avi Arad + video game movies' shoddy history = slim chance this ending up good. Not even Kojima's THAT good a miracle worker.
Is Kojima actually actively involved with this movie?
Yes ****ing please.
