I honestly would be surprised if it wasn't a skin.I can also see a Gray Fox mission being post launch DLC.

I couldn't be any less excited about Rising. It just looks bad. the character moves too fast and the enviroments are too small.

The character moves too fast? The envoriments are too small? Relative to what?

Obviously a case of 'still looking at this as a Metal Gear game'-itus.

(Not that I blame you).

It is a Metal Gear game, it's just a change of pace, one that was dictated by the franchise's helmer.

I don't think Rising is perfect, far from it, I think Raiden should have been like Batman in Arkham, he should be able to sneak like he does in the TGS trailer, and go all out too. But it looks like a fun game, and hopefully the demo will be released soon.

Your arguments are invalid.

Try again please.

Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima has confirmed development on Metal Gear Solid 5 to the twentieth issue (June / July) of the French IG Magazine.

"There will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 with the new FOX Engine," confirmed Kojima (via Google Translate), “but what we’ve shown was not gameplay, or anything like that. It was only a demo that we had developed internally and released because the lighting and interactions with the environment had fooled everyone.”

Kojima continued: “About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you “a favor” like in the last Metal Gear Solid. I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see. And if I say more, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door, I will be carved up into pieces. So it’s better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5.”

Kojima also touched upon Metal Gear Rising, reiterating that it is not a Solid Snake title, but rather an offshoot that does something new.

“Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never claimed to be a Metal Gear Solid. This is not a game about our beloved Solid Snake. It is a spinoff that tries something different. We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”

Metal Gear Solid 5 is definitely a thing and is set to use Kojima Productions' new Fox Engine, Hideo Kojima told French games magazine IG, CVG reports. Kojima sneaked in a few gameplay and story details as well:

"About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things," Kojima said. "There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you 'a favor' like in the last Metal Gear Solid.

"I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see. And if I say more, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door, I will be carved up into pieces."

Kojima also cleared up any remaining confusion (not related to grammar) about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and its place in the Solid franchise: "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never claimed to be a Metal Gear Solid," he said. "This is not a game about our beloved Solid Snake. It is a spinoff that tries something different. We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots."

Now that's tough love.

Deus EX???? should be interesting to see their spin on it.

We're getting more of Solid "bad futhamucka" Snake?!

Maybe my dream of a game that spans the entire Les Enfants Terribles may be realised.

I hope it's a prequel. I would hate for them to do a Sequel and possibly de-age Snake. The guy fought enough, let him rest.

That's exactly what I hope happens. :]
hehe I had a feeling you'd say that. though I doubt others(fans wise) would agree to this.
if they keep him old though that doesn't mean he won't be running things. that would be a viable option. seeing him in a administrative role(to others working under him). and have some else take over the hand on work though. kinda like what Bruce is to terry in Batman beyond. it'll differentiate him from sam fishers role. ( I know others here like to see snake as hands on, but in this case) seeing that there are others(fans) that want him not having to be a(fully ) part of wars anymore.

Exactly. Prequel for the win. Id love to see the rumored Big Boss game with the new Fox engine

Me too. I've been saying since the end of 4 that you watch Fox Alive "reverse" his aging. I'd be for it.. I really felt Solid got the shaft anyway.

And the split begins . well i tried for compromise.

I hope it's a prequel, otherwise MGS4 was all for nothing. It'd kind of be like them doing another Christopher Nolan Batman after Dark Knight Rises.

I could go with a Metal Gear remake.

As for the Solid Snake comment, maybe MGS5 will be the Metal Gear remake we've all been waiting for? Or maybe MGS5 is set before the Outer Heaven uprising, with Snake as a Green Beret?

Like I said.. I feel Solid is due to have more time in the sun. Sure he had the original 2 titles but outside of MGS we only got to play as him, twice the full way through a game, through the entire Solid series.

I never looked at 4 as the "end" of Snake. Kojima back tracked on killing Snake.. At that moment I knew he'd be back again.

Count me as one of the guys that wants Snake de aged and also feels he got the door slammed on his face.
