I've been looking for a Nextwave thread through the Search option the other day and there is none at all. I thought Nextwave really deserves its own thread.

With all the heavy happenings in the DCU and MU, it's great to see a comic taht doesn't take itself seriously. I love it.

Exactly, its over the top fun, and not gritty, dark and 'mature'.

I've only picked up the first issue, was hesitant for the rest, but will pick up all the currently released ones for Immonen's art. I haven't read much by Ellis, except half of Planetary. Which is amazing, and this is sort of the opposite of Planetary (I don't mean not awesome, but in scope).

It's laidback and fun, even if to me, the jokes aren't that funny.

How is Monica Rambeau portrayed in this book?I've taken a liking to her character after reading some old Avengers stuff and seeing her save the day in Black Panther.

But I will say,Immonen's art is some of the coolest sh1t I've seen.Whoever was coloring his stuff in Ultimate X-Men made it just look twice as cool.

Yeah, it's a great title that will keep you laughing through the pages. The art is awesome. The characters are great. And the issues just get funnier and funnier, IMO.

I can't wait for issue 5!

Eh, I picked up the first issue, which totally blew my expectations away. In a bad way. Like Tropico said, it was pretty boring and pointless (and I've seen good pointless, this was IMO, bad pointless), and the characters, ugh, Ellis would've been better to just make up his own (besides Captain **** and Dirk Anger that is).

I think it's gold. I really hope Marvel's marketing department realizes it, because I can imagine this being an Adult Swim show and having some kickass T-shirts.

Either you're confusing me with another poster or you thought my post was sarcasm....I'm sorry to disappoint you Harl, but I DO like NextWave. If you don't go into it with a serious outlook it's awesome. It's kinda like New Defenders in tone. It doesn't hurt that I was a fan of Immonem's artwork; I don't like the shift he made but it's still really good. I prefered it when it was similar to Adam Hughes work. The Broccoli man's spontaneous getaway song as he runs away from Bloodstone in issue #1 was priceless. Aaron talking about beer? Fin Fang Foom's "origin"? I found that stuff funny! Hell, how can you NOT like a comic that makes fun of Fin Fang Foom's pants?
