Switch The Official Nintendo Switch 2 Thread - Part 2

Mario Kart? That and Tekken 8 will do me early on.

Mario Kart will be the big launch title and we're definitely getting Metroid Prime 4 this year. I'm also betting they're saving the new 3D Mario as their big holiday release.
Ah Metroid Prime. Switch 2 will be fine.

I doubt we'll get a new Smash Bros. anytime soon after Ultimate did so much. I mean, where do you go from there? That said, Mario Kart sells, so that being a launch title would be a good move.

As with all of their consoles, hopefully Nintendo has some solid third-party support.

The Switch certainly did. And with this one no doubt packing more power, I imagine it will too.

The Switch OG can run Kingdom Come: Deliverance - that's a feat in and of itself. If a developer went to that effort for the OG, I think the follow-up is safe for that.

Until the orange felon screws up those prices. But a June is similar to the release window after the full reveal of the switch.

Oh yeah if anyone is planning on upgrading their tech. Better do it now before Trump takes office.

Those male connectors could definitely be source of problems, and thus, source of money for official Nintendo repair shops... :hehe:

I probably won't get this on release and will wait for the revision model or OLED version. I don't remember, but were there any rumours of the thumb sticks being hall effect sticks? My old Switch that I gave to my niece has minor stick drift, but not my second Switch (yet). Though, I haven't played as much with it compared to the previous.

Those ports (KCD, TW3, etc.) come with an inferior visual fidelity, though. Low LoD and short draw distance, among other graphical optimizations.

With Switch 2, there's DLSS that should greatly improve performance.

It’s kind of cute. Not as big a change as I initially thought but I guess that’s why they called it Switch 2

It felt less like an actual announcement and more like a teaser. :o

The Switch 2 announcement feels nothing like compare to the PS5 announcement, which looked a bit drastic compare to the PS4,and the hype for the new PS5 was huge, despite the console design not looking the best. People were perched and buzzed.

Switch 2 feels like your annual tech upgrade like when a new laptop/iPhone model gets announced. Its announced for the sake of an announcement, similar to when Switch Oled was announced. Its there, its now the go to item when getting a new Nintendo console but this doesn't feel like Nintendo is entering a new era and thats quite whelming and also fine. The games that would be on it for the several years would sell it.

I mean, why would it try to rework what works? Nintendo is kicking Sony and Microsoft's ass. Sure, decry it as a tech upgrade, which isn't a big thing with Nintendo, even though we do have those mouse joy cons, but it is a tech that is selling.

I really don't understand what people wanted from Nintendo; Nintendo's huge issue for almost 30 years is innovation at the expense of practicality and advancement. They decided not to do that, finally.

There's no 'we made 3D gaming on console a thing but messed it up by having cartridges', 'our GC is more powerful than the PS2 but our tiny discs ruined 3rd party support', 'we made the Wii but more confusing' mistakes, here.

The Switch is a winning design, and frankly - it's one I think that nobody wants Nintendo to ever stray from, again.

I don't know what people wanted in a Switch 2. They begged for a more powerful upgrade of the design for the Switch 2 - that's what we're getting - and people are like "bUt muH iNnOVaTIOn...!!!!"

If Nintendo decided to 'innovate' anything more grandiose, you'd get people whining that they're over-complicating the design, being too 'gimmicky' (heck, the OG Switch was called 'too gimmicky' before launch), and confusing the consumer.

The Switch is a timeless idea in gaming. And Nintendo would be stupid to go back to the drawing board.

I never want any other style of system from them again.

I was never a Nintendo fan until the Switch, and it may be my favourite system.

Seems like Sony and Microsoft are allowed to just release beefier versions of their systems and that's fine; but Nintendo does it and it's against the rules.

Silliness.
