Playstation The Official Playstation 5 Thread

I'm meh about a pro version.

If you're getting a PS5, it should already be the best version of that model - until the next one arrives (PS6). Especially the og/slim PS5 are not being sold for like $300 dollar less or half the price of the pro version.

I don't get it. you say you are meh about a pro console but then you say if you get a Ps5 then it should be the best version, and that would be the pro version.

Pro version costs like 100 dollars more (based from the Ps4 era).

Also the OG/Slim ps5 would now look like the inferior version of PS5. Anyone who gets the PS5, should have the same power across all PS5s. If there's a more powerful console, then save it for the actual successor (PS6).

I see. so you're saying you're against the concept of having a pro console within a generation. to that, I would agree. I was really pissed off last generation when the Ps4 pro was announced.

but I was in a different stage of life back then. I always had to have the latest & greatest playstation hardware, so I got one. but at this point, I feel like my Ps5 isn't underpowered, more like underutilized. and I don't play nearly enough as much to be bothered that there is going to be new hardware that's better than it.

They gonna announce some damn games while they're at it? I don't give a **** what your hardware does if you don't have the exclusive software library to support it.

Its a 9 minute presentation. I don't think there's a big Sony game for 2025 (aside from Death Standing 2 which isn't even a first party game). Even if they reveal a new game, that could take 3 to 6 years from now.

I'm now once again canvassing for the PS5. I said once again, because i used all the money I saved for a PS5/and its games, for more important things earlier this year. But my waitlist for Sony's first party ps5 games, is still very short

1. God of War Ragnarök
2. Horizon II: Forbidden West
3. Spider-Man 2
4. Stellar Blade
5. Astro Bot (I would buy it, when it's really cheap)

I've also already played Miles Morales, and other third party games that were released in 2020/21. I have no interest in playing the remake of Last of Us and Until Dawn. Aside from the new AC Shadows, which I want to play at launch, I'm not missing out on anything yet especially the next God of War/Spider-Man/Horizon aren't announced yet and I have plenty of time to catch up. And GTA VI is going to be released in the fall of 2025, and I would have a Ps5 by then (if I don't have something else to splurge on :o).

but long story short, I need more ps5 games that would attract me. If I already have a Ps5 by now, I would have less than 20 PS5-only games by now. Thats not a lot.

Most of this is on PC or on its way. The only game I think will honestly stay on PS5 is the Demon Souls remake for no other reason than it feels like everyone has forgotten about it.

I'm just here for the Bloodbourne RemasterRemake being showed off on the Pro...

Am I the only one who wanted a PS5 so I would play my PS4 games without the console sounding like a jet engine lol? It wasn't the only reason mind you but still :oldrazz:

I went from PS4 Pro to PS5 and that Pro gave me anxiety any time I played a game. It sounded like that thing was going to combust on my shelf.

I thought the presentation was pretty weak. Pretty much old games showcasing "graphical upgrades" through the Ps5 pro, that aren't really that noticeable. I know there's a Last of Us Part II remaster but its still a 2020 game... like I said before, if Sony is launching a pro version, they should release it in the same month as their newest exclusive game.

Also $700 dollars without a disk drive... what are people gonna do with their physical copies collection if they decided to throw money into this? Buy the same games digitally, that they already bought in disc? Even if they have an usb for the disc drive for the Ps5prp, it is still another payment.

This doesn't look worth it. God have mercy for the PS6, when its $600 mininum ($700 in international markets) and there's no disc drive. This was an awful announcement.

Sony is smoking ****ing crack. 800 bucks for the worst first party lineup they've had in the history of the brand is a big hard pass from me.

Im watching the KindaFunny livestream reaction to this news and they brought up something interesing that I never really thought about before. Are consoles starting to go the way of cell phones where every few years we're getting a new console? And when we get exclusive games, it's not so much a PS5 or PS6 exclusive game. It will be available on all PS consoles, it's just depending on what type of console you have, graphically/performance wise it be only "slightly" better or worse.
