[PlayStation CEO Jim] Ryan also said that of the thousands of games tested for PS4 backwards compatibility, “99 percent” can be played on the next console. Sony also announced a new service called PS Plus Collection, which will offer 18 PS4 first-party titles for download to subscribers to the PlayStation online service. It’s a tremendous freebie for anyone who plays their PlayStation online, and a good entry point for anyone new to Sony properties like “The Last of Us.”

You'll have to rebuy them if you owned them physically on disc to play those games on the digital-only console however.

Along with my PS5 pre order, I also pre-ordered Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition! So pumped. This gives me a week to play that before Cyberpunk drops november 19th.

dudes you gotta see the scalper prices on eBay I saw some that were 2x and almost 3x MSRP. I thought you could not sell an item that you physically did not have and you had to post a photo of the item with a note that had your eBay ID (no stock photos).

So glade that spiderman mm got game play and did not good pushed back. I was close on the date for release i thought 11/13 instead of 11/12 glad the price is what a lot of people thought it would be at 400 and 500. Need to re watch the conference. I think the June conference was better over all. Surprised we didn't get a date for ratchet and clank, and wish we got Horizon fw game play. Nice that GOW got announced even if a teaser that showed like nothing lol just nice to have some kind of window. I am sure we are going to get a lot of hands on previews/impressions and such for games now leading to consoles release. FF is big never really played them but i know how popular that franchise is. Just so glade to have the price and date.

I saw some people saying something about Horizon and spiderman being cross gen and sackboy not sure where that came from. I cant wait for spiderman and Horizon but if they are cross gen i wonder if that will hurt early sales for the system because they are both system seller level games but i think most people buy new systems for games you can only play on the next system. I don't know how much cross gen can really be a system seller. With those games if they really are cross gen than that means there is basically nothing that is built from the ground up on ps5 than other than ratchet and clank for maybe the first year or so and those games may be held back something i have hated on ms for and now spiderman may have some of that even if not at that level.

Darn it so i was at work during the confernce with this being at 1 pm and all and heard preorders where coming out tommorw but found out like a hour ago that preorders where up and now i cant get one. Best buy had a listing but when i would try to check out it would not work and target, wall mart etc where out already. If we dont get a few more preorders tommorw or something i am pretty sure i will end up having to wait to 2021 to get one has i think this is going to be if you miss out on first perorders you are not getting one for seveal months kind of thing just what i was worried about preorders going up when i was at work and had no idea.

Sort of where I'm at, I'm checking other places constantly but trying to work through Bestbuy's broken site seems like the only option left short of waiting god knows how long for another retailer to restock after the pre-orders are over.

Edit: Best Buy just removed it from my cart and it isn't showing as a available, I think they're actually waiting until tomorrow unlike the other retailers who decided to just ignore the intended date. Did manage to get a controller ordered at least.

I really hate Sony right now, I trusted them when they said they'd give people a heads up on timing before pre-orders went up so people could be ready. I didn't even know they put them up yet and now they're sold out everywhere
