FYI, no one actually knows anything about Silent Hills outside that it exists. People are making a lot of assumptions (such as the game being in first person), but literally nothing has been said about it. That being said, it's probably safe to assume it'll be multiplat, but as of right now, no one actually knows.

I really hope it's not in first person.

that would kill my interests in the game.

Why is that? Simply because your preference is 3rd Person, or is there a specific reason you have something against 1st Person?

ah. can you purchase what you need at other stores?

I probably can but ever since the summer of sophomore year, target's been my go to market for buying all my ****. I suppose I can go to wal mart but my local target is way closer. ugh.........

1st person games tend to give me a headache/make me dizzy. so, I generally stay away from them.

I'll make exception if the story/gameplay is interesting ( like a Bioshock game ) or if you can switch between 1st and 3rd person view, like Fallout/Skyrim.

ah. ok.

but just remember, in this day and age, no retailer is truly safe from these kinds of problems.

Oh, that's too bad. Guess you're not that excited then about the future of VR in gaming.

I prefer 3rd person to 1st person as I don't really feel like the character otherwise. I do love games in which you can switch between both though.

yeah. like in Skyrim, I felt the 1st person view added to the "immersion" aspect in some cases. but then I liked that I could switch to 3rd person so I can actually see the character I created.......lol.

I remember they were going to do a first-person Zelda... I was very happy they didn't.

I don't mind first-person games as shooters, but for anything else, I much prefer third person. Just gives me a better sense of presence.

Yeah I switched views a few thousand times. Every time you are somewhere where you can get a good view of the world you need to be in 1st person. But on the other hand my character was just too cool to not stare at. :woot: Not much point in spending a week on creating and perfecting your character if you can only see his/her forearms.

yep!

and that's a problem I have with Destiny. you can create a cool/sexy looking character, but you spend most of the time in 1st person......:cmad:

I haven't played the Destiny beta but that's also the reason I don't really care about what armour or other customisation etc I'm wearing on Halo games. If I can't see it it's not there. :woot:

A third person Halo would be interesting.

I think when Peter Jackson was involved with making a Halo game (Halo Chronicles or something it was called) it was going to be third person. I'd like a third person Halo game starring a non-human.

I'll maybe spend a minute admiring my cool looking character, but then I'm way more focused on trying not to get hit with a plasma cannon to the face, by a spider tank. Seeing your character in the tower, during vehicle rides and cutscenes is more than enough.

I understand wanting to see the character you created, but you'll be way too busy with other things as you go adventuring, you won't be paying much attention to your character's awesome looks anyway.

I remember there were a lot of ambitious Halo projects that didn't go anywhere, so that's certainly possible. One of them sounded a bit like Destiny (gameplay wise).

I certainly wouldn't mind a good Halo spin off.

I want another ODST. It was the game with the most interesting characters in my opinion. Well, with exception of the one character you played. He was basically just some silent avatar.

Halo could use a protagonist with some personality. At least once.

Arbiter's the closest we got.

It's too bad we couldn't play as Nathan Fillion's character in ODST. The only main character with any sort of personality in the Halo series is still Master Chief. And he's as dry as they come.

I love the Arbiter, wouldn't mind a whole series starring him.

MC started to get a personality in 4.. And too be fair if you follow lore... There's a reason he doesn't have much of one. It's pretty much ripped out of him.

RE: Third person vs first person

I think first person works exceptionally well in horror games. I feel too detached in third person.
