They really don't need a Spencer equivalent. Sony's been doing very well for years now. After Ken's mess with the launch of the PS3 they've been doing great. This is really the first mis-step (possibly) that they've taken. Not enough to knock them off at all. The PS4 is still an amazing system....you know if you play games and not just worry about console features.
well, to be quite honest, I haven't been that impressed with any of the PS4 exclusives.
Infamous Second Son was ok. TLOU didn't really appeal to me. Same with Bloodborne. Uncharted series doesn't interest me much either.
No Man's Sky sounds like a mess, so I'm glad I avoided that.
The exclusive I was most interested in, Street Fighter V, was a complete disappointment as well.
Other multiplat games I really anticipated like Dragon Age Inquisition and Fallout 4 were somewhat of a letdown.
So, I've not only been underwhelmed by the features of the PS4, I've also been a bit disappointed in the exclusives and games.
Not saying PS4 isn't an amazing system. Just that I haven't been terribly wowed by anything yet this gen.
I think that's partly to do with my own changing gaming habits. I've become much more of a casual gamer in recent years. someone who does use the console as much as a media player ( if not more so ) besides a gaming machine.
There are upcoming games I'm looking forward to on the PS4, like Rise of Tomb Raider in the immediate future and the Final Fantasy VII Remake coming whenever. The FFVII Remake, being a timed exclusive to the PS4 which may never come to the X1, is a reason why I'm a bit hesitant to jump ship back to MS.
I was looking forward to Skyrim Remastered but the recent mod news has tempered my enthusiasm for that somewhat.
The PS4 also has JRPG and fighting games that are usually exclusive - but even those are somewhat hit or miss in terms of interesting me.
And the PS4 does have the power advantage - even more so now with the Pro. And I can't ignore that either. But I can't deny that the X1 has the advantage in terms of features and overall functionality. Hence, my unending quandary........lol.
