Thoughts/concerns about his role in the movie?

holly f..... sh......... :wow:

both look badass

it looks ****ing awesome....

and i get the sense SP is about to unlease a freaking gallon can of Whoop-arse onto a D-Con there...

sweet

my guess is the emotional investment of the surviving character is going to be in place.

SP looks great. So does Bay know how to film the color red now or was that just a lame rumor from the first movie?

I was thinking the same thing
but then again, the first movie would be considered unexplored ground.

more over, they aren't shooting this on film so so I've heard.

lastly, considering this series presents just about the best pure cgi compositing i've ever scene(short of pirates) I'd say the dude knows what he's talking about.

I don't follow movie technology. What are they shooting with?

3D cameras are a digital format for the time being.

most movies up until now were shot on film 16/35/75(imax) millimeter

so that somewhat smoother look in the new superbowl spot is mostly a result of the lack of film grain and probably higher frame rate.

There probably won't be that many sun kissed scenes ala bays tradmark.
Hopefully it's worth it.

Interesting. Is that how Avatar was made or is it something different? Either way, I would gladly trade in overly sunny scenery for some decent 3D.

I personally find it's the sunny scenes that sell cg compositing in this day and age.'
compare the day scene vs the night scenes in
Iron man
Pirates
Transformers

like district 9 proved(to me anyways) over contrast makes cg pop, whereas lack of contrast makes cg look flat..ie pretty much the entire star wars prequels.

yea avatar and a handfull of others were filmed this way.
like imax cameras, the 3D camera rigs themselves are much less mobile so that also has a factor on the finished product.

The downside is that some people [BLACKOUT]ahem michael mann[/BLACKOUT] use the digital format is a deliberately funky way and it gives the style a bad name imo.

I personally can't bloody well stand the look, but I'm curious to see what bay does with it, so far I'm hopeful.
plus it will be in 3d so that's something I guess.

I was mostly referring that "orange" looking tint in part of the Egypt scene of ROTF. I'm a huge fan of daylight cgi.

Pirates is one of the few movies that had night cgi that was just as good as the daytime. Both Iron man movies fell flat in the final fights. The spectacle just wasn't there.

The final fights at the end of both Iron Man's looked pretty good imo, the cgi in the daytime scenes were just a tad bit better.

Dont know why he made him look so much like Alpha Trion in the face but the rest of the design looks awesome, cant wait to see him in action, wonder is Megatron will kill him like in the comics?

So what is his vehicle mode? Definitely looks Earthly.

He's the huge firetruck....

loving all the cords

Thst is an awesome design, just done know why they made his face look like Alpha Trion instead of the many Sentinal Prime designs seen in the comics over the years.

I'd say it's smart to combine the designs a bit. They serve a common purpose, and Alpha Trion is a little more recognizeable. Plus Sentinel Prime always looks like Rodimus Prime to me.

^I personally dont think Sentinal looks anything like Rodimus, and to the movie going public they couldnt tell you who Sentinal Prime or Alpha Trion were.

I just dont see why they couldnt use his face from, say, Megatron: Origin.

Oh did he ever look like Rodimus at one point!

I don't think it's a nod for the GP, I think it's for the fans

Human looking hands are creepy on Transformers.
