Jimmy Olsen - Aaron Ashmore

Perry White - Michael McKean

Lana Lang - Shannon Lucio

Good cast, Orin but you're forgetting two people:

Young Clark Kent- Zac Efron

He's a teenage Welling mixed with Jesse McCarthney

Young Lana Lang- Vanessa Hudgens

She looks like a younger, teen version of Kristen Kreuk

Casting these two for a flashback would be more useful than using clips from Smallville.

Uhhhhhh No on all levels:cwink:

My Ideal Cast at this moment would be:

Superman/Clark Kent - An Unknown
, because I think that for a role as big as this one a recognizable face would be too distracting, but if the studio really wanted a name actor I could maybe spring for Josh Hartnett, or even Routh, both are about 30, the right age to play the part

Lois Lane - Keri Russell, she is a really good, beautiful actress, and is also the right age for the part

Lex Luthor - Daniel Day Lewis
, lets face it DDL can pretty much do anything you throw at him, and he'd probably pull off a more serious and sinister Lex that has never truly been done, he is definitely one of the best actors around right now, but he is about 50 or so

Perry White - Hugh Laurie
, ever since I first heard that he was originally cast in SR I've always thought of how great of a Perry he would of been, his work in House also convinces me he is the ideal man for the role

Jimmy Olsen - Shia Labeouf
, he is a pretty darn good actor, and Jimmy is a comic relief character which Shia does well, not to mention he is once more the right age to play the role

Jonathan Kent - Kevin Costner
, he has proved before that he can play this type of role, and he is just old enough now to where he could play Pa Kent

Martha Kent -
I am really stumped on this role, the only person I came up with was Karen Allen, but I am not 100% sold on her for Ma Kent, but she would match Costner's age well

Jor-El - Johnny Depp, I know he has been mentioned many times before for this part, but that is because he could truly pull off this role really well, plus I like the idea of a middle-aged Jor-El in a reboot

Lara - Catherine Zeta-Jones
, she is beautiful and could match Johnny's age really well

Metallo (if he was in it) - Jason Statham, he is a magnificent action movie star, and for a physical role like Metallo he'd be perfect

Brainiac (if he was in it) - Hugo Weaving, he is just about the only actor around right now who could truly pull off the part

As for the writer(s) and director, I don't want any big names personally, because I don't feel that any big name writer or director around right now is a good match for the Man of Steel. For a character like Superman you need a person, or persons, with a genuine love and understanding for the character for a good Superman film to actually make it; that is how Batman Begins succeeded, because two men with a love and understanding for the character got together and delivered a superb story. The next team behind Superman should be an unknown director and writer, and I would say do what WB did for Batman Begins and look at the independent film industry for the right talent to realize the Man of Steel, just because many of these guys have never done a big budget film before doesn't mean they can't do it. I just don't want to see big names come in and kill the franchise because they didn't truly understand the characters and were only in it for the money.

I would generally cast a bit older than Singer did. I would love to see Jim Caviezel as the Man of Steel. He is an excellent actor and has a more mature, centered and purposeful demeanor than most actors. Plus he has the perfect look for Clark/Superman. Cast an older Lois Lane and bingo! I know it's not gonna happen but I can dream!

I am sick of Jimmy C..
He doesn't even look like the MOS!

Trucco trully is my favorite choice for a modern Superman.

Phoenix I can't see as Physical threat. THough he would make a very interesting voice and before Criminal for Parasite.

New and improved big 3...

superman-leonardo dicaprio
lois lane- reese witherspoon
lex luthor-joaquin phoenix

No way would I want Anders as Clark/Supes. Helo, yes!!!

Kevin Costner was the moving hole in Robin Hood. Things were happening all around; it was mostly a fantastic movie - but it was pretty dead where he was. Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, just about anyone else would have been much better. Wouldn't want Costner in a Superman movie for anything, though it's a tough call if I had to choose between getting him or Nicolas Cage.

Skip Karen Allen. Rewatched the original Indy this weekend; was not impressed with her acting.

I think Joaquin Phoenix could indeed play a physical villain. He glares well enough to convince audiences that he'd as soon slit their throats as go out for a drink with them.

Superman -- David Carr (NFL quarterback; Google Image Search him, he IS Kal-El.) Hey, Dean Cain used to be a football player before he put on the cape.

Lois Lane -- Eliza Dushku

Jor-El -- Liam Neeson, Mel Gibson, or you can't go wrong with Terrence Stamp.

Perry White -- the original choice from Superman Returns: Hugh Laurie.

Loved Cain; love football players, but I'm just not seeing Superman in David Carr. Hadn't heard of him, so I did the Google image search. Very gummy grin:

Haven't seen him in action/interviews, so I'll withhold judgment on his personality matching Kal-El's, but I don't see the physical resemblance.

Superman: Henry Cavill

Lex Luthor: Billy Zane

^
Henry Cavill could be in pretty much anything (or nothing ;-> ) and I'd watch it.
Billy Zane reminds me of the guy who played Xerxes in 300. Must be the eyeliner/mascara look.
Rachel Mac: she's one of my top hopes as a replacement Lois in SR:2, but if they rebooted she'd be great as Lana. Wouldn't mind her trying her hand as Cat either but I see Cat as being obviously older than Clark. Maybe Gretchen Mol, now that you mention her.
Lea Thompson (Back to the Future) as Ma Kent? Pass. Marrrr-ty! Clarrr-kie!
Martin Sheen is cranky and he'd be fine as Perry but I'd prefer someone else.
Kevin Durand was great as Joshua and would be great to have in a Superman film. Doesn't have to be as Parasite. Would prefer to see him get a girl.

Tom Hanks? Love his acting most of the time (NOT that horrible thing where he tried to rip off the woman to use her house for smuggling) but he doesn't belong in a Superman movie. Not unless you want to do a joke-reboot starring him and Meg Ryan, with Billy Crystal as Lex or maybe Perry. Now that, I'd watch. Cary Elwes as Jimmy. Robin Wright as Lex's moll who has a soft spot for both Superman and Jimmy. "Princess Joe's Volcano and Sally." How about it, SNL? Cracked? Please?

I know he's crazy about the character, but I don't want to see Jerry Seinfeld in any Superman-related anything.

Not a clue who quite a few of those people are.

I was watching Band of Brothers recently and Eion Bailey is definitely a good choice for Superman.

Bah, I would like Routh to say on. The more I watch other clips of his work post SR, the more I see how the movie limited him. Although I would like to see Lois Lane be re-casted with the brilliant Sienna Miller.

Kevin Spacey was good but I think he needs to tweak his performance.

Superman: Michael Trucco
michael_trucco.jpg

A.) He has the look B.) He has the acting chops C.) He wants the role

Lois Lane: Rachel McAdams
rachel_mcadams_1.jpg

I know everyone suggests her, but I truly think she'd be great. She's a pretty good actress too.

Lex Luthor: Jason Isaacs
242581~Jason-Isaacs-Posters.jpg

Isaacs could pull off an sinister and evil Lex Luthor in his sleep. Isaacs would be the man to go to if the studio wanted a truly evil Lex Luthor. Just watch one of the "Harry Potter" movies and try to tell me he couldn't play a wonderfully evil Lex Luthor. The man's an evil genius.

Perry White: Alan Arkin
163429__arkin_l.jpg

While it may be an odd choice, I believe Arkin could pull off the Perry White character very well. Watch his work in "Little Miss Sunshine" to test his acting chops.

Jimmy Olsen: Michael Cera
michael_cera_hot25.jpg

Look at him in the above picture. He IS Olsen. Watch him in "Superbad" where he plays a character that seems mildly similar to Olsen.

Braniac: Hugo Weaving
C55573~Hugo-Weaving-Posters.jpg

'Nuff said.

DiCaprio was born for supes...as Cera was for Olsen; great pick
