Awesome dude, seriously

:awesome: That is Amazing!! But hold on a minute.. I have been noticing an emerging trend here, not saying it's "illegal" to do it but I have to ask. Why?

I still see John Schneider and Tom Welling. I know I'm stating the obvious but I can't help but think 'how dare you!!'. Crazy I know but it'd be great if you all (including me) keep Smallville separate from this new film because I'm really looking forward to the new Superman but this is just starting to ruin it for me. What I'm trying to say is Smallville and Tom welling seem to be gradually getting replaced by Cavill and co like it was a bad memory. Was it really that bad? Lana or not it must have been enjoyable to most of you. It's Superman!!

I choose to embrace all incarnations of Superman whether good or bad and 'Wilde' I'm not saying you are at fault or anyone else for that matter.

You might say that no ones complaining about Brandon Routh being maniped like crazy. It's the super suit you want to manip not Routh. The Donnerverse ended in 2006, so even though there is only a couple of months left for Smallville I think it should be left alone until next year. It's only fair :cwink:

What are you rambling about?

I saw this earlier and thought it looked pretty good.

That Kent family pic is still cool, but Cavill's head still looks a little off... a little too sharp... Costner and Lane look awesome though...

Lane has heavy lighting on and the other 2 have next to none - think thats what makes it look slightly off
fantastic idea and great execution though

Here's my problem with alterations like this to the costume...

I wouldn't really have a problem seeing this in the new movie, but what really is the point of those lines?

Ok I've read this question by so many fans on here and I just can't take it anymore haha!

So then I say... I what is the reason that designers put holes in jeans or fade them out? Why did they put stripes on that white shirt in your closet? Why does that watch have a leather band instead of the metal one? Why do girls put on eye shadow? There's really no reason other than They just think it looks good. Supermans suit has no functionality at all. Whether it was made by Martha or the fortress, its just aesthetics really. Honestly, I wonder why more people don't ask, "Why does he wear a belt? He has on tights. What's it holding up?". Me personally I like the original suit and would prefer a Jim Lee style. Kind of like the suit in question. However, I also like the stripes because it breaks up the monotony of the blue. In the books the illustrator uses at lot of shadow on the suit. But it can be overwhelming on screen at times. For me that is. Differents strokes for different folks. ;)

That's not bad... I just hate the booty shorts/underwear on a modern day Superman. I hope the designers figure out a clever way to still give a nod to the old school design, but make it much sleeker. I've seen some great ideas in the Part 1 Manips thread.

Pretty cool but the head is too small, which is probably a problem in the original drawing.

Here's Micheal Shannon as Lex:

Here is one I did with the MG suit but with trunks..

I don't mind changes to the costume as long as it's not overdone.
Change the suit too much, and it ends up looking like an Elseworlds version of Superman. A good example of how to make minor changes to the costume and stay faithful to the classic look is this:

No thanks...Im of the opinion they just have minor improvements of the classic.

Credit to Wilde for the original manip. Hope you don't mind - I tweaked the lighting, colors and gave Clark a haircut :yay:

IMO They Should Alter The Reeve Suit A Little, Make It Modern And Don't Morph The S.

Thanks. Although most of the credit goes to Wilde for the original manip. I do picture Clark (both farm and Metropolis versions) with this hairstyle. It should be more relaxed though. The Entertainment Weekly magazine hairstyle, although very natural looking, doesn't fit the character in my opinion.

:O Sorry, buddy. Should I change it back and upload it with the original hairstyle? Or maybe you can, i don't know, disregard mine and refer back to original? Let's save our hissy fits for the officially released pics. Ya know, the ones that actually matter ;)

ligting improves a great manip so much - different hair imo
