Bandai Namcos annual Tales of Festival started not too long ago, and the publisher showed off the latest trailer for Tales of Zestiria, revealing the newest character Zabeeda, who looks to be a villain standing in the way of Slay and friends. Game Jouhou shares a look at the trailer and more.

The trailer starts out with a look at Slay and Miclio encountering Zabeeda, who seems to know about Slay being a Monk (Doushi). He then mysteriously pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the head hmm.

Slay then narrates how the world has many legends that have yet to be revealed, and that they are not journeying for the purpose of being Doushi, but for themselves.

Next, they show Alicia asking Slay if she can be his retainer. After getting help from Laila, it appears that Alicia is then able to see those of the Heavenly Tribe. The video then gives us a closer look at all the other Heavenly Tribe characters, followed by a look at some battle scenes.

If youre wondering about whats going with Slay at the 2:18 mark, its a new ability that involves fusing with a character from the Heavenly Tribe, and control their elemental attribute at will.

After seeing the party run into more trouble with Zabeeda, the trailer ends with a first look at a dragon, which is one of the games key features, as seen on the logo.

Tales of Zestiria is getting an animated feature.

The annual Tales of Festival just started in Japan, and Bandai Namco already had plenty of new Tales of Zestiria stuff to announce, starting with a first look at an upcoming TV special anime for the game. Heres the shows first trailer:

While details are scarce at the moment, it sounds like the TV special that will air sometime before the game is released. Animation studio ufotable will be in charge of production.

Additionally, the band Superfly will also be doing the theme songs for the Tales of Zestiria anime. More details on the anime will be revealed in the near future.

Tales of Zestiria Shows A New Ability That Lets Slay Fuse With Heavenly Tribe Members. May 31, 2014 . 3:42am

The new feature called Kamui, which means something along the lines of Divine Convert, allows a fusion between people and Heavenly Tribe members.

During the Tales of Festival 2014, Bandai Namco shared the latest trailer for Tales of Zestiria, which showed off a new feature from its Fusionic Chain Linear Motion Battle System that involves the fusion between Slay and a Heavenly Tribe character. Game Jouhou shares a few more details on this front.

The new feature called Kamui, which means something along the lines of Divine Convert, allows a fusion between people and Heavenly Tribe members. While the report indicates that people and Heavenly Tribe members fuse together, weve only seen Slay pull it off thus far.

As shown in the top image, thats what it looks like when Slay and Laila fuse together with Kamui, that makes them into one powerful being with the ability to control fire.

The above footage was shown during the event to further demonstrate the Kamui system. It starts out with the Slay and Laila split apart, then they activate Kamui for a single attack, only to split up again.

This ability can be activated and deactivated consecutively at any given time. There arent any details about limitations for the ability, but well have more on it once it becomes available.

Tales of the World: Reve Unitia takes various characters from the Tales games and puts them in their next adventure in a dream world called Revalia.

As previously reported, Lloyd and Asbel, Yuri and Jade, and various other characters will be split into two groups as they seemed to have lost their memories, but decide to help Terun and Nahato, whom they meet in Revalia.

Towards the end of the trailer, it shows Asbel fighting against Yuri in order to protect Terun, the young child from the Lufres tribe, so it seems like not all the Tales characters will share the same opinion on what needs to be done in order to save the dream world.

Ludger from Tales of Xillia 2, Rubia Natwick from Tales of the Tempest, and Presea Combatir from Tales of Symphonia are in the game too.

Bandai Namco recently shared the first trailer for Tales of the World: Reve Unitia during their Tales of Festival 2014 last weekend, where we got to see a bunch of guest characters from the Tales universe. 4Gamer gives us a look at several more in their latest report of other characters in the game.

Ludger Will Kresnik (Tales of Xillia 2)

Ludger uses three weapons out of twin swords, twin pistols, and a hammer.

Julius the gentleman will fight using his twin swords.

Tales of Zestiria’s Mysterious New Character Is Also Of The Heavenly Tribe. June 12, 2014 . 3:15am

Zabeeda is a member of the Heavenly Tribe, who journeys on his own to hunt down some sort of demon.

During Bandai Namco’s annual Tales of Festival that took place earlier this month, we got to see several new features for Tales of Zestiria, including a new character by the name Zabeeda, who is shown confronting Slay and the others. Famitsu shares more details on him and more.

Zabeeda is a member of the Heavenly Tribe, who journeys on his own to hunt down some sort of demon. He’s a hunter-type of character who enjoys fighting powerful opponents, and he tends to go pretty wild once a fight starts.

He fights Slay who had become a Monk (Doushi) and is considered a very dangerous opponent.

Tales of Zestiria features a similar chat system as the other games of the series, but with a little extra as seen in the above screenshot.

The above is another look at the new “Kamui” feature, a system that allows the protagonist Slay to momentarily fuse with a Heavenly Tribe character at will.

In addition to the boosted parameters you get from it, it’ll start you out with a two meter (6.5 feet) sword to go with speedy movements. After hitting the third hit in a combo, the sword extends to four meters (13 feet,) allowing you take out any monsters in range.

How The Two Sides of Tales of the World: Reve Unitia’s Story Begins. June 19, 2014 . 1:33am

Asbel and Lloyd wake up in the unknown world of Revalia, where they don’t have any memories of their past, apart from their own names.

Tales of the Wolrd: Reve Unitia brings many heroes from the Tales universe in a dream world called Revalia, where an evil known as the Vule is a major threat. The game is split into two groups with groups of Tales characters and key characters from Revalia. Famitsu shows us how the stories begin.

Asbel and Lloyd wake up in the unknown world of Revalia, where they don’t have any memories of their past, apart from their own names. The two then meet Lufres, a young child from the Lufres tribe, who asks for their help to take on the Vule.

On their way to the Lufres’ village to learn more about the situation from Terun, they meet Natalia, who also awakened with no recollection of her past, but decides to travel with the group.

Upon arriving to their destination, they immediately realize that the village was under a surprise attack from the Vule. Protecting the young Lufres, was none other than Flynn Scifo. The group manage to take care of the Vule, to bring momentary safety to the village.

While they don’t have any ideas as to why they’ve lost their memories, they know about Revalia and the danger that Terun and the others are in, as Asbel and friends do everything in their power to help out.

In order to fight the Vule, Terun is required to accompany the group of Tales heroes. Before anything, they needed to make sure that the Lufres’ village could be safe, so they decide to take out the Vule on the nearby roads… where they also happen to meet Rubia.

Leaving behind the young Terun and the others in the village, the Dream Keepers of the Lufres tribe left to a place called Melancolium in order to maintain a barrier to seal a powerful Vule.

The most powerful of the Dream Keepers is Nahato, who went after the Vule that managed to escape, but exhausted himself upon defeating it. To make matters worse, Nahato learns about Terun and the others failing to summon those from the Awake World, who are capable of fighting against the Vule, but due to the failed summon, have been spread across Revalia.

However, it doesn’t take long for Nahato to meet the just-awakened Yuri and Jade, who both immediately sensed the dangers of the Vule around them.

After waking up in a completely new world, without any memories, the two immediately ended up fighting right off the bat. While Nahato needs their help, it seems like Yuri and Jade have questions of their own before agreeing.

We’ve been introduced to all kinds of Tales of Zestiria characters thus far, but Zabeeda looks like the most dangerous one of the bunch. Here’s another look at the mysterious character, along with some brief details.

Zabeeda is a Heavenly Tribe member of the wind type, who enjoys fighting powerful opponents and tends to go wild once a fight starts. He also has a side to him of him that likes starting little arguments with girls.

Out of all the Heavenly Tribe characters, Zabeeda is said to be an exception when it comes to combat sense and experience. His fighting style is said to be similar to that of Dezel and his wind-based Heaven Echo Artes.

Zabeeda is also looking for an unknown weapon called the Siegfried, which is needed in order to defeat the demon he’s been trying to hunt down.

In Tales of Zestiria, The Terrain Can Affect Battles. July 9, 2014 . 8:29am

Geographical features of the map will affect fights in Tales of Zestiria.

Tales of Zestiria will have a character named Martron, revealed in the latest issue of Japan’s Shonen Jump magazine, Anime News Network reports. Martron is a female knight, known as the “Blue Valkyria”.

The character will be voiced by Mami Koyama, and is the teacher of Alicia, one of the game’s two main protagonists.

Additionally, Shonen Jump confirms once again that battles in Tales of Zestiria will take place in the current setting that you find yourself, and that geographical features of the map will affect fights.

One example the magazine cites in this regard is slight ramps in the environment having the ability to affect the tide of the battle.

You’ll also have access to “map actions” that have different effects on your characters. “Cloak of Ghost Fog” will render you invisible to enemies, while “Chief’s Wrist” will allow you to break boulders blocking your path.

Maltran is one of the few people that Alicia can trust in Tales of Zestiria.

Bandai Namco previously shared a glimpse at a new Tales of Zestiria character, a female knight known as the “Blue Valkyria”. Famitsu tells us a little more about the elegant lady knight, who happens to be Alicia’s master.

Maltran is one of the few people that Alicia can trust. She’s a female knight, who is well-known as the “Blue Valkyria” in the Highland Kingdom. Her fame even reaches the borders of the opposing country, the Laurence Empire.

She is loved by Alicia, who also sees her with nothing but respect as an inspirational person, who she aims to be like.

Tales of Zestiria is in development for PlayStation 3.

This week, Bandai Namco introduced two quirky new heroes who will be starring in its upcoming RPG, Tales of Xillia 2. First, there's spy-turned-salesman Alvin who's having a hard time staying on the straight and narrow. Then there's Elize, a fragile (some might say neurotic) girl just trying her best to fit in.
Tales of Xillia 2 will be available in North America as a PS3 exclusive August 22, 2014.

Certain obstacles on the field might require the right elemental actions, so youll be able to move them once you have the right Heavenly Tribe member.

In Tales of Zestiria, the terrain will have an affect on your battles, as different areas might change the surroundings of your fights. 4Gamer shares a look at this feature and others.

First off, we previously shared some details on Maltran, the Blue Valkyrie of the Highland Kingdom. The above shares another look at the female knight, who is an inspirational figure to Alicia and her mentor of sorts.

Baltro is like the Secretary of State of the Highland Kingdom, who takes care of internal affairs. In this kingdom, bureaucracy holds the true political powers, where royalty and aristocrats are practically just decorations.

Baltro and the other ministers unified out of nowhere, and are considered the actual forces that drive the Kingdom. He is aware of Alicia and the Monk (Doshi) Sorey, and is strongly cautious of their conspiracy.

The above is a look at some of the map action features, where you can get rid of different obstacles that might get in the way. Certain obstacles might require the right elemental actions, so youll be able to move them once you have the right Heavenly Tribe member.

hmmm

There are also a couple other useful map actions. Miclio’s water shield makes enemies notice you less but will slow you down. Dezel’s wind abilities can help you reach areas you normally can’t get to on your own.

Tales of Zesteria has a new “Real Map Battles” feature for the first time in the series, you’ll fight in the same area as the battle commences. This means that you might want to consider where you fight, since there will be different obstacles, or maybe you wouldn’t want to fight yourself caught in a narrow hallway.
