Do I see radish earings on Luna? (Isn't that what she had in the book?)

Your eyes do not deceive you. Yes, it would appear to be a pair of radish earrings, and she does wear them in the book.

Luna "Loony" Lovegood (born c. 1981) is a fictional character from the Harry Potter series. She is described as looking like an embodiment of dottiness, with her wand tucked behind her ear for safekeeping, giant turnip earrings (radish earrings in the United States editions), and a necklace made of butterbeer corks.

Cool. I'm glad they're paying close attention to things like that.

I was imagining Umbridge to be more like Harry's aunt from the third movie.. (I read that book too btw I just can't remember her name)

Her name is Aunt Petunia. Honestly? I had no idea who I was picturing when I was reading Umbridge, but the movie counterpart sure doesn't stray far from my imagination. She IS perfect. I don't care if she's not toad-like or fat.

Luna looks alright. We should take this pic to the Mix It Up Movie Captions.

More pics have been posted at mugglenet (and leaky cauldron, I'm sure).

Is that the actor who played Dudley in 1, 2 and 3?

Yes. He just looks different because of his weight loss and the make-up.

New 'Phoenix' set report

Preparation for filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been taking place at Black Park, Buckinghamshire, recently. A report from the set states that it has taken five weeks to complete the Hogsmead station with primary filming to take place next week.

Once again the team of set designers and construction crew have done an incredible job building the complete and gorgeous Hogsmead station and platform in a matter of weeks. This large scale project right in the middle of the woods has been 5 weeks in the construction phase so far with an expected further week or so left until Unit 1 begin filming.
During yesterday evening and continuing the rest of the week the actual carriages of the Express are being brought to the set , leaving then just (if you can call it just) the Engine to arrive by the weekend. Each of these 'parts' of the Hogwarts Express are arriving unbelievably via road on huge transporters, no mean feat in a quiet Country park with very restricted access. The equipment (cranes and trucks) used to get the train makes the whole procedure feel almost miniature but we assure you its FULL scale, no special effects required for these scenes.
The track has been laid and if you can imagine a full size station and train IN the woods you can get some idea how awesome it is...

As you can see from the images the attention to detail of the station is amazing, the front being finished with a fully workable waiting room, even at the rear (we're not sure if this will feature on screen) has been finished to the highest standard...c'mon WB Executives, leave the Station here for 6 months so the fans can visit - we're sure you can sort out the legal issues?

For all fans in and around Buckinghamshire, these ARE the best pictures or views you will see im afraid. In the past 3 days the fences sealing off the area has been brought further back away from the set, so actually seeing filming will be out of the question; likewise getting your favourite stars autograph will not happen, again for safety issues they will all arrive in cars driven directly into the enclosed area!

Unlike Oxford or Virginia Water locations where most Muggles can sometimes watch a few takes this is a completely closed set, fenced in and sealed off! Its also a night shoot which is being planned we understand; therefore do you really want to be walking around the woods at night? please don't its just not worth the safety issues. The scene being filmed at Black Park we believe will relate to the scenes filmed earlier this Month at Kings Cross (see archived reports and pics) with the same cast exiting the train on their way back to school...

Side note, is it just me or is Dudley resembling the Penguin in that pic?

Now that I think about it, yeah.

In fact, as another poster mentioned, it almost looks like they got a totally different guy playing Dudley.

It's probably just because we didn't see him in GOF and he will have matured physically in that time.

Everything seems to be looking good so far, I never have a problem with the look of HP movies, it's the scripts that I am always wary of.

By the time Half Blood Prince comes out, I dare say people that weren't finding these brats potential sex symbols will be by that time.

I wouldn't imagine any of these youngsters as being sex symbols. They all seem very average to me.

They have to be legal first. Then of course is the magic of Hollywood make up people & CGI scanner men, making actors and actresses look far more attractive than they actually are in real life.

^No, Emma Watson is hot, Hollywood make up or not.

Is it just me or is anyone else kind of disappointed with Daniel's performance throughout the series?

IMO he is the worst actor of all the films.

Where is Marietta in the picture of the Order? Why don't the wizard students wear robes anymore? And why is Harry's hair so short?

Well, up until Order of the Phoenix, Harry doesn't show much emotional depth. OOTP will literally make or break his career and show how much talent he really has.

As for the worst actor of all the films, I'd say Michael Gambon. Although its not his fault, he is just horribly miscast.

Ah yes, the tricks Hollywood have up their sleeves. Although it'd have to be magic to sort out Dan Radcliffe's eyebrows. They are insane!:wow:

Emma Watson is a slightly above average looking girl. She has a cuteness about her, but you could walk outside your front door and see any number of girls who look just like her or even better. She is not ugly or anything like that, she's just nothing special.

I certainly have been. I wouldn't go far as to say he's the worst actor in the films, Emma Watson and her overacting eyebrows take that spot, but anytime he is required to show a strong emotion of some kind, it doesn't come across very well. i.e. during POA when he just found out Sirius was his parents friend. That's one of the worst scenes in all the movies simply due to how it was played by Dan.

All questions I have asked. I presume not having Marietta in there is some indication that the script will differ slightly from the books. No surprise there, although a pointless change if it were the case.

I find it odd that the students don't wear robes anymore. Are we supposed to forget that they are in the world of magic??

Plus, I find it weird that wizarding families such as The Malfoy's or Weasley's wear Muggle clothing outside of school aswell. I mean the adults of the family wear wizarding robes and such, but not the kids. Even though they were raised in the magic world and are not really clued up on Muggle ways. Not a big problem, but I always wondered why.

I agree with the first part, I don't think there will be any middle ground with this. Dan will either be good in the role or he'll stink up the joint. Personally, I find the Harry character in OOTP very annoying. Dan will have to work very hard to not come across as a whiny, whinging, stroppy teenager in this one. I really hope he succeeds, coz I know if he fails, it will spoil the enjoyment of the film for me.

I think as far as Dumbledore has been portrayed in the movies, I think it's a combination of faults. Gambon yes, he was never a choice I agreed with, he never has seemed to actually research the character very much and doesn't have any magic (no pun intended) in his performance. I think the writer is to blame also,, I alos don't think the writer really grasps who DD is, otherwise he certainly wouldn't acted the way he does in GOF especially. Also the Director, with some better direction, whilst the performance wouldn't have been great, it would have been better.

Changing Marietta can very easily ruin the entire continuity of the films. If Marietta doesn't snitch on them, how would Malfoy have ever gotten into the Room of Requirement? This is a key plot point of Half Blood Prince. You have to know what they are doing in the Room of Requirement to get into it. I wouldn't be suprised if they took out the Room of Requirement entirely and simply had DA in the Gryffndor common room or something equally stupid. That is the problem with these movies, not since Columbus (who most people complain about) has a director actually thought ahead for the rest of the franchise when making it (i.e. Taking Bill and the hospital wing scene out of Goblet.)

I could almost get Neville or Ron wearing Muggle clothes, but Malfoy? His hate for Muggles and Mudbloods is the character's primary trait.

Yep, Dan can be good at times. Other times, not so much. It is time for him to either shine or fall.

I agree entirely. You can't blame Gambon solely for the craptacular Goblet Dumbledore...I really hope a director and writer who gets Dumbledore does Half Blood Prince. Otherwise, when Harry tells DD that he didn't get Slughorn's memory, Dumbledore might slap him around a little bit
