See, I like Tom Welling. He's a great guy. Seems to always say the right thing, keeps out of trouble, and is just a great role model for kids. But sometimes, people look too much into things. That's all.

I think it's just not positive enough.....smiling and having a good time with it. Sheesh, who does Tom Welling think he is? (Knowing damn well SV fans are hanging on his every word?)

Welling's definitely a big man, no doubt about it, but he's not Ahhhnuld sized. LOL His improved physique over the last four years is undoubtedly due to improved instruction and increased training for his SV character. How much spill-over there was in preparation for the film role is debatable, but he could probably step into the role right now and be fine. An interesting advantage.

Anyway, to get back on topic... AYE FREAKIN' GAIN... Welling was recently quoted about his opportunity to direct a SV episode, and he mentioned wanting to do the SV series finale. Here's what he said:

"I wanted to direct a season finale. I actually wanted the series finale, but they didn't buy that one. But who knows? I figure if everyone in the world watches my episode, then I might have a shot."

Now, I *thought* he was joking. But I'm starting to wonder if there wasn't some actual desire there. As I've recently come to learn, John Schneider actually directed the series finale for The Dukes of Hazzard, and that was with ZERO directing experience at the time. Interesting.

This might not be a pipe dream for Welling after all.

Okay, shots for maniping purposes, or just as a guide to his physique for maniping like Zing does? Obviously, some pics aren't very good for maniping, but they may show details of Welling's body that are relatively unique to him, and therefore would be good reference material. Some of these shots I have in larger versions...

Hmmm... Y'know, I need to pick up some better software for doing screen caps. While shirtless pics of TW are not a rarity (THANK GOODNESS!), getting just the *right* pose for what manipers need can be.

There were quite a few publicity photos released from that act in Spell. Depending on the scene (before or after Chloe scratches him) some photos will have more "blood." In the composite I put together, it was before the scratches (but after he was tossed around a bit), so he had a bloody lip and a few bruises on his face.

Here's the largest pic I have of that scene with him standing next to Jason:

There will probably be a nice selection of photos (screen caps and hopefully a few promos) that will come out of Hypnotic. Given the spoilers, it sounds like it has the potential to be another one of those love-em/hate-em episodes. Clark Kent the sex slave? Oh, baybeeee... sign me up. LOL

As to more shirtless shots from the ole archives, well, the further back you go, the leaner he tends to look. Now that's not necessarily bad mind you, but I think a properly airbrushed Superman suit would look better on this:

But that's JMHO. He's not THAT much different, but you can see he's beefed up his neck and traps a bit. Welling's not entering any body building contests, so he just needs to be big and bulky, and jeeze louise, he IS! LOL
