the top pic looks cool the bottom one just makes ross look goofy.

I think the top one looks so cool because it looks like william spotted the spy and was getting ticked that they couldn't wait for an official pic release so he was legitimately angry like ross always is.

I like the way they choosed to go with his hair, instead of cropped (Sam Elliot), it's more slicked back. And the mustache looks better than ever.

I'm not worried about the acting. This is William Hurt we're talking about.

Anyone else getting a slight hint of Paul Newman in this pic?

Other wise, I think he'll do just fine. Hurt's been on a roll recently; his brieft appearance in A History of Violence was fantastic(though I don't agree with it being Oscar-worthy), and Mr. Brooks, that was just hauntingly good.

Although I'm still a bit miffed they didn't just bring back Sam Elliot. That was pitch-perfect casting if I ever saw it.

Think about it. They wanted a new start to this franchise. They recasted Banner and Betty so don't you think it would be a little weird seeing Sam Elliot onscreen with new people? If they changed one character then everyone has to be recast, plus this is a fresh start!

Oh and Hurt is frickin' amazing as Ross in this film! Trust me!

If he wants to top Elliott's performance, he needs to call Bruce a "milksop."

Hurt looks great as General Ross! I have no doubts he'll prove to be great in the role as well. Can't wait to see him (as well as the Hulk of course) in a trailer.

That hasn't quite been the goal. Hurt looks better.

I don't like the fact that letterier refers to Ross as 'The Villan'; he's no more the villan that JJ Jamerson is in Spiderman. Ross is definately anti-Hulk, but his reasons are justified......

great pics. I was leery about Hurt at first, just really didn't get a Gen Ross vibe from him.
From these pics at least I think looks wise he has it, now let's see how he acts the part.

    Very excited for this film.

LL probably refers to Ross as the main villian to Hulk because Ross is chasing Banner/Hulk and attacking him throughout the entire film whereas Abomination is only in the film towards the end which doesn't really make him the main villian. Plus it is Ross that starts giving Blonsky the serum.

  21. Pity they didn't do the same with Casino Royale, I still can't understand why they kept Judi Dench. As one movie show on TV said, "Was Helen Mirren busy?"

Yeah, Ross is one of those characters that cant be simply identified as a complete hero, or villain. He's very much one of those shades of grey characters. It would be very easy to paint him as a villain, since he's been a long time adversary of the Hulk along with his quick temper, but his expressed desire to take down the Hulk is definately understandable from a certain POV.

I'd say more 'antagonist' than 'villain.' He's certainly not evil.

Yeah, i have never seen GR as evil, because he believes he is doing good by ridding the world of the Hulk.

Although he may not be as good an actor as Sam Elliot, I still hope that Hurt will do the best job possible.
