So, as some of you probably know by now, Nine Inch Nails new album, Year Zero, has now totally leaked onto the series of tubes known as the interweb. If you didnt know about this, now you do, and I'm sure you'll figure out some way to get it. I gotta say, this album is better than With Teeth, and I'm a man who loves his With Teeth. It's very much in the vein of Downward Spiral in that it's alot of noise, edited together to form these beautiful songs. The lyrics are also incredible, I'm about halfway through the song Capital G right now, and it's one of the best written songs, lyrically, I've ever heard. Anyone else get it? And if so, what do you think?

I know that you can listen to the whole album on their site now. (nin.com) But since my computer is evil I can't hear a dang thing :(

damn Reznor, wasn't he supposed to take like another four years before his next album?

Awesome! I'm going to have check in on this.

Im waiting until i have the cd its going to be amazing! :D

it is amazing...hope the packaging is cooler than With Teeths...

I gave in this thread made me thristy for it so im streaming it now from NIN.com

Capital G is the best song...either that or In This Twilight

im on vessel at the mo, i love trents programing he makes really cool beats

After having a few listens to the album i think its ****ing amazing and one of the best albums trents done, cant wait to pick up the cd :D And yeah capital G is great :)

Some useless information for you. The Static at the end of the song 'The Warning' Gives produces this image. I love images hidden in songs :)

This CD was really good, the color changing freaked me out the first time.

I'm glad Trent went in the direction of focusing on external events rather than groaning about this life for this one. Year Zero so far is the best NIN album IMO

HYPERPOWER!- solid opening NINstrumental, setting you in a good apocalyptic mood
The Beginning of the End- Essentially describing the state of the world lyrically which Trent sings in a very casual tone.
Survivalism- You've heard it, you've seen the video, now go and live it.
The Good Soldier- Easy flowing beat which views on war through a soldier's eyes (presumably in Iraq)
Vessel- Trippy as hell song which is in a league of it's own.
Me, I'm Not- Continuing the drug-induced paranoia of Vessel with a beat that will put you to sleep.
Capital G- Greatest Bush bashing song ever.
My Violent Heart- The first leaked track, and it still rocks
The Warning- Very simple musically and it's one that sticks in my head for some reason.
God Given- "Come on, sing along, everybody now!" everything about this song is godly. Love the religious point of view in this.
Meet your Master-Continuing from God Given, it's mainstream enough it could stand on it's own as a single IMO. very head like a hole quality lyrics.
The Greater Good- Trippy as hell Reznor brainwashing creation.
The Great Destroyer- Lyrically about a nuclear bomb or someone who controls one, either way the rythym is spot on with two minutes of random experimenting sounds at the end.
Another Version of the Truth- NIN piano ballad, which is the calm before the storm.
In This Twilight- the preluding song leads into this beutiful depiction of a nuclear bomb exploding "and the sky is filled with light, do you see it?"
Zero-Sum- This is one of the best song Trent has ever done period. Trent softly talks in the verses and it sounds like he did it on a tape recorder. (as the character is speaking to some other person, it sounds fitting) It works excellently as a cliffhanger to Year Zero pt. 2 for next.

96.5 The Buzz, a station out of KC, played the whole album before it was released. It was fantastic. I thought "With Teeth" was decent, but definitely not all that Trent Reznor is capable of. I'm glad he got so ambitious.

Wait, there's gonna be a part 2? Kinda like System Of A Down's "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize"?

From what I understand there will be, except that it would come out next year. What a wait thats going to be...

See, why is it that us rap fans respect you guys enough not to come in here screaming "rock sucks" or "NIN is garbage" but you cant' do the same for us?

I'm a bad example cuz I like rock, just not NIN...but you get the point.

I don't go into the rap thread saying it all sucks.

*I like Eminem and Tupac, among others.

For the record, I respect Ludacris.
