:hehe:

"It's like talking with those two ****s from The Muppets." :hehe: I love Argo so much.

I know. But I kinda believe in the auteur theory which states that a film only the product of its director's mind. I like that idea for a film to be just the director's in every possible way.

I think every decision should be by the director. Hiring Terio was done by the studio. Even the article says so. Even hiring Affleck was reportedly done by the studio.

So I hope Snyder's vision isn't compromised by the studio. He already did state once that ultimately he has to do what the studio asks him to do.

is it a good thing or a bad thing? i have no confidence in WB though.

is MOS his vision wholly? i thought they got the script first, then hired Synder later.

i always believe that if one has the ultimate say, his product will be most biased and won't be good. example: bryan singer and his SR.

Is this Snyder's film still??? :P

The production team is too crowded!

WB doesn't have faith in Snyder so they just threw Affleck in to the production of the sequel.

This was supposed to be Snyder's film!

Snyder needs more time to develop as a film maker and get the public on his side before Justice League!

They're just throwing in everyone now to catch up to Avengers! Terrario? He doesn't have enough experience! His resume is too thin! He needs his own film first!

What a mess.

Oh the irony :lmao:

After MOS... I TRUST IN AND BELIEVE IN ZACK SNYDER.

Snyder could very well be responsible for this. He really wanted to make a good movie with MOS (and he mostly succeed in my eyes). If you watch the special features on the blu-ray, he is so enthusiastic about it. He really cares and wants the film to be great. This could be one more way in which he's trying to do what's best for the movie. It could have even been a collaborative idea between Snyder and Affleck, since Affleck worked with Terrio.

And even if this wasn't Zack's doing, I don't care. This is a good thing regardless of who did it.

He really is passionate about this and wants to make it the best movie it can possibly be. I think even he personally wanted Hans Zimmer for the score.

Snyder put together one hell of a team. I can see him wanting to add they talent of a top tier Actor and an Oscar winning writer.

I admire Ben for not settling for "second best" in terms of screenwriting. This time, anyway ;)

WB was probably thinking in terms of business, and I'm sure Zack's more than accommodating (which is VERY good in this case)

I like this little bit from the "making of" article.

"“There were a couple of shots where someone might say, ‘I don’t quite like the way the cape moves there because it looks like it’s a real cape with a wire attached to the end of it to pull it,’ and Zack would say, ‘That’s fine! Don’t change that animation – I want people to think that maybe we did that, even though it’s a CG cape."

Sounds like Zack's an easy-going guy. I REALLY want him to have a good relationship with Affleck and his writer.

Zack definitely comes off as chill and easy going in interviews.

These.

Eventually people are going to realize how passionate and intelligent a director Snyder is.

^ If has a strong enough screenwriter and doesn't make the bold choices that make him so divisive ;)

I agree with the screenwriter thing. He needs someone to compensate for his weaknesses related to story-telling. But I like his bold choices. I don't like things to be safe and vanilla. So, props to him for doing that, even if I don't always like the specific choices.

Watchmen was a bold film to make, MOS had bold elements, 300 might seem conventional on the surface, but were there any other comic-book swords n' sandles movies before then?

Like it or not, he's made a name for himself, and I think that is PART of the reason he's so controversial. One might not like Jonah Hex, but can you remember the name of the director? :D

Nope, there wasn't. All bold choices brought to us by Snyder and now he's bringing the first ever meeting of Bats and Supes to the big screen. And the first WW on the big screen period. Bless that man. He doesn't always nail it, but he sure does try.

^ Exactly. I want him to be a great director, and hopefully spending extended time with Affleck will help him understand the mind of a very accomplished independent mind. But I feel like Zack brings uncompromising emotional intensity to the table when he's "on."

Dude gets way too much hate.

Whatever you think of Zack, he's a guy who can get **** done. Never would've imagined a Watchmen film and we got that. And now he's bringing together the two greatest comic book heroes of all time in the same movie together in 2015.

It's funny, but Costner tends to get some of the criticisms that Affleck does, and I thought he did really well with a really unflattering script (for that particular character).

Now the screenplay potential has been upped at least 30 percent, so I'm sure Ben will do fine. :)

Doing Batman justice for this film alone is 40 percent of the battle, IMHO.

Snyder and Affleck have been collaborating for a while now on bringing a new interpretation of Batman we've never really seen before so that's gets me excited. :)
